Glad you guys liked it. :D Thanks for the tips, Mozared. I'll get to fixing up the terrain a bit later. Also, thanks to you both for responding to my questions. Didn't know I had two SC2 folders. >.>
Icewraeth, I like the theme of that terrain. For improvements, including what Mozared said, try mixing up the grass. I think you're using either the Agria or Haven(or some other tileset, I don't know all of them that well), so include a bit of variation on it. I like the waterfalls/rocks in the water, but don't really like the one in the back. For me, I can't really see where the water is going from the waterfall. Maybe remove some of the cliff under it, and add a river flowing into the other body of water. And to make up for Haven/Agria not having a skybox, try raising the side of the trees in the back to hide it. Aside from that, good job with it. Also, the Jungle/Forest theme is fun to work with, so no surprise others are working with the theme. :D
Shadowclaimer, the idea behind the scene is good. The angle from which you're showing it doesn't allow for much detail, so I would recommend changing it. That's basically the only thing I don't feel that great about, I like the theme. :P
I'll check out the other submissions later, giving my not-that-great opinion(since I'm not that great with the editor >_>). Also, here's the blue box I was talking about...Not really a box, square. Could be something with the shadow to show it in-game...I don't know. D:
This is my "Dawn of an Era" Map. It's about a planet going through some rough changes, while civilians run for thier lives.Basicly a new Era for the now old planet.
I really couldn't decide on 1 pic i hope its not against the rules to put more than one.
EDIT: Fuck it told me that someone else posted and once i re-clicked reply all the pics banished, and they don't let me edit them in. I'll just re post them in my next post.
Here is my first attempt with the newly improved Galaxy Editor.
A New era begins where the terrans, must retreat to an abandoned Outpost, which was burnt away by the flowing lava.
Will take pictures of the lava, moving towards the new era outpost later on :)
The lava is damn repetitive, but overall I do kind of like that. There's room for improvement and more doodads (the outpost looks a bit... stale, boring an empty overall). I do like how you've enlarged the special ops dropships rather than using the generic ones.

Edit: Added new picture, pay no attention to the horrible detail on the ghost, due to the fact that im now working from my laptop, which doesnt have as high specs at my pc.
Also a bit bland, but I like it as well. See if you can do something with the floor the command centre took off from.
Catch you all later for now =)
Okay, I might add some destruction torwards the ground to make it look like a strong take off? and maybe add some variation on the ground like dipping in and out. New picture will be up soon.
hmmmm very nice :) i like the first picture the best. maybe add some towers around the compound to make it look more like a hardened facility, cause due to the fact that its zerg, i dont think they would not make it unsecure :) if you not what i mean.
Here my first real attempt at the galaxy editor. It shows Terran starting to mine and populate a Protoss world.
Took about an hour or so to do. Still WIP i will put in a skybox and fix lighting later.Screenshot
This would be so much easier if Editor would stop crashing on me, anyway here's some of the work that I managed to save before the last crash.
Heh, SC2 is saving maps to the SC2Beta directory.
I have seen a lot of people talking about this problem. The only solution I have seen is to remove the Liberty Multi (Mod), because it and the Liberty (Campaign) dependencies conflict.
It has potential, but it needs more;
-Height variation, the entire camp seems to be built on plateaus now
-Vegetation, not even Mar Sar is completely empty
-Livelyness, some people or such (evidence that people live there would help as well, stuff such as roads)
and
-Textures. Try and make the entire mountaintop concrete, add in a dusty pad up there, and you're a long way already.
The first pic is awesome, the second one is 'meh'. You took the first one from exactly the right angle, and the mood and everything just seems to... work. Once again an excellent demonstration of how lightning can make a terrain work, too. I reckon if you put more time into it, you can make an entire prison that looks as awesome as in the first picture, but I guess that's something for another time?
Note to self: caves made out of rocks work REALLY well on the Agria tileset. I like what you've done - though you should try to create a focal point. A town square with colonists unloading boxes, or something like that. Then you can make a screenshot of it and post that here instead.
I'm actually liking it more and more every edit. It still feels a bit... 'chaotic', but because your latest edits with the fog and lightning are making it look more like a 'high-rez painting', some stress is taken off the eyes. It's hard to say what could be improved, but you could probably still do something to 'take the edge off' a bit. Perhaps add a bit of lava if there's room for it.
Yeah, I'm still thinking about what to put in the center of the town, it also needs more population. I would add more but I don't know how to work with it so it feels right without being too crowded. Oh yeah, notice what's inside the cave as well. I'm thinking about whether to add security of sorts or not.

Note whole map is playable.

That box looks like a pathing indicator of some sorts. I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I can't look it up for you, but I'd check the 'view' options.

Zerg breaking out of a Terran research facility.
Edit: Yes, I'm re-reading Slaughterhouse five.

I think the lighting makes your first picture. Gives it real volume : ) didn't know starcraft had lighting like that . Good work
Updated my New Era Terrain:
Now has the sky box in the background. Small update :L

Post criticism.
Basecamp of Operation "New Tarsonis"
I need some help, items from the Liberty campaign dependency has disappeared, I don't know what to do about it. Oh and update.
