Hi, I recently made a hammer of dawn ability out of a nuclear strike duplicate and after messing with actors and such finally got it show the colossi beams. Only problem left now is they don't really come from the air instead they come from the ground. would anyone know how to change so they appear from the sky instead of inside the ground?
Trigger Solution:
Uhm link the beam to an effect (like Ghost Snipe).
Then make a new invisible, flying unit. Set it's flying height high enough and create it via triggers. Then make it use the effect.
I actually tried doing something like this myself a while back and the "fired-from-invisible-air-unit" approach worked. The only problem was that at a certain height and at certain angles, the beam effect would not draw. Right now my satellite-strike ability just uses a column-style damage effect, but it's a poor substitute :(
I'm pretty sure you'll run into the same problem. Sadly, I don't know how to get around the issue.

well its a item weapon, so if triggers work with items i'll give it a shot.
actually i'm remaking it from the thermal lance set, im hoping to get the right correct periodic offset so it appears to come from the air
