I have been working on a mod that basically changes the player race in story mode to Protoss or Zurg.
I can change the individual maps, but I want it to go back to TStory01 between missions, so it's just like single player.
This I just cant seem to do. I also would like certain missions to unlock new units (Safe Haven would unlock the Pheonex etc)
But i cant figure out how to add Protoss units to the StoryTechGroup function.

I really don't know if this can be done. :( Blizzards hub-level is incredibly complex. Take this as a bump. Hopefully somebody else can either confirm or deny this for sure.
As far as the TStory01 map goes, your right it is WAY to complex for me to edit, plus it seems to be locked, I can change certain things, but I cant add any triggers, or delete the ones already there. I think i might have made some progress though, There is a file (I think it's an XML file) in the maps directory that assigns each mission a numerical ID or rather assigns a bunch of ID's to the names used in the script for TStory01. There numbers also seem to appear in the library for TStory01. Unfortunately I dont know how to assign my maps such ID's (it calls them MAPID under presets) nor do I know how to make TStory01 Editable, so that I can change the library.
In fact, if I could alter the library to use my missions numerical ID's instead of the games, I would not even need to change the story map at all.
