So I've made several different shooting mechanic and I want to swtich between these depending on which item I have on my weapon slot. Now I've tried all day to work around this, but so far no luck. Does anyone have an idea? there doesn't seem to be any item related events ?
Well, you could have a periodic trigger that checks the units inventory and if it contains your item, apply effects... if not, remove any residual effects and and new ones if its a different item.
That's unfortunately the only way I can see how to do it at the moment as there isn't a "unit acquires item event" or any similar that I've seen.
I have not looked at items or creation of them but I did see an event for units for when it gains or is given a 'powerup'. I have seen items in maps i was checking out that incressed speed and damage. But I have done so little with the creation of new units/items that I dont know if I would know what to look for lol
Havent tried the periodic thing yet.. I'll look into it... with regards to the powerup thing, it doesn't work :) already tried, also tried when a units movement speed is altered, and then applied a very slight movement bonus to the item, but doesn't actually work either.. *shrug*... I think its a bit weird heroes er so poorly supported in the galaxi editor, considering Blizz promised full support

I've tried item carried in slot by unit, in everyslot up to 10, doesn't work.
I've tried all items carried by unit = the only item i have so far, doesn't work... Geez this is frustrating :)

Blizzard has got to have an editor patch somewhere. I don't understand how item passive effects and behaviors could not supported.
