Hey I'm brand new to GE, but spent tons of time with the world editor and staredit.
So I've got an idea for a map which absolutely screams in need of a colonist critter for decoration. How, if at all, could I set my map up to have a unit with the colonist model as a new critter in my map -a MELEE MAP? (The idea being to not invalidate the melee properties of the map...) To be honest I have no idea which direction from which to approach the problem. Help?
Doesn't sound complicated at all, but I have never done it before.
BUT FIRST, A QUESTION: The implication here is that if I were to change the model, I could change it to a model that isn't used in the melee standard assets, like a campaign model. Is that the case?
the only thing i understand for melee map is that two or more players fight, get to construct a base, have no starting advantage's other than the melee intalization, And gotta smash dem' enemies to pieces. And usually the two sides are exactly mirrored.

I believe we have the same understanding.

can't in a melee map.
You're ABSOLUTELY sure.
Could just change the model , Sounds, and wire frame of the unit.

Mkay, so how do I go about that?
You see, I'm really, really new to GE.
Do you know how to change units models under their actor?

As far as I understand the definition of a Melee map is that nothing is edited. At least, that's how it was for WC3.
