This can only be described as SICK. A SICK port. Cant WAIT to play it. Well done!
A couple things I would prioritize/do differently:
-Medics: I know the AI is harder, but come now, surely the AI isn't so hard (or should be so hard) that we need medics. I, ME, and MYSELF, would dumb the AI down to the point that you don't need to include medics. At least for the first few missions.
-Command center add-on(s): Donde estan! These are a must, and I would add them. Need to be rid of the orbital command look.
To a lesser degree: NEED an academy model, I'm sure there are tons out there, and if you could nab one, this would complete the already excellent look you have going for SC1 Terran.
Not that it necessarily will help your specific map, but you can also do it without a trigger.
Go to Data.
Sound Tab.
Scroll down to sounds that say "Ambience" in their title. ("Ambience_[Tileset here]").
Find the ambient sound name that is tagged with the original tileset for your map. Eg, if your map was created on the Haven tileset, find Ambience_Haven.
In the box to the right, right click to add or remove sounds. Removing the ambience file in this named sound object will remove the annoying birds. Better yet, you can add an ambience which is more spooky, such as Shakuras, and even add intermittent thunder claps.
This can be done in melee maps, too, and is a great way to add another dimension of different feel to your maps.
Doesn't sound complicated at all, but I have never done it before.
BUT FIRST, A QUESTION: The implication here is that if I were to change the model, I could change it to a model that isn't used in the melee standard assets, like a campaign model. Is that the case?
Hey I'm brand new to GE, but spent tons of time with the world editor and staredit.
So I've got an idea for a map which absolutely screams in need of a colonist critter for decoration. How, if at all, could I set my map up to have a unit with the colonist model as a new critter in my map -a MELEE MAP? (The idea being to not invalidate the melee properties of the map...) To be honest I have no idea which direction from which to approach the problem. Help?
