Greetings SC2Mapster folks. I'm trying to replace the normal 'Ghost' model with the Nova character model (normal ghost in a melee game except with the Nova model and sounds) so I figured I just have to change the 'actor' and 'model' for the 'Ghost', right? Not sure why but I'm having an incredibly tough time doing this.
First off, after I load my map, campaign/story dependencies, and go to 'data' I check the 'melee' units and see 2 'Ghost' units. I don't know if this is normal but neither one of them can be edited it seems ('modify' is greyed out). So I try to make a duplicate 'Ghost' and leave out the 'actor' and 'model' data objects so I can add them later. After I check my newly created 'Ghost' unit I go back to the 'unit' tab and see that it still has all the normal 'Ghost' actor and model info and when I go back to the map to add the unit, I can't even find it on the list.
I've looked all over the net and checked the tutorials but can't find a solution. Thought it might be a problem with administration rights on my PC but I can change other map properties like gas and mineral placement and save them without any problems. Please excuse my noobishness with this editor. Any help would be most appreciated.
im trying to do the same, in fact i did it, but theres more than sounds and models to change. after achieving that, when you use the "snipe" skill on your new unit, it looks fucking weird, the rifle is poiting up and your nova/ghost gets a red glowing sword from nowhere, so you might need to change animations too. changing animations is something i still cant do. :(
basically i did duplicate ghost, then duplicate nova actors, then link, then i went to the actors from my new unit, go to the "art tab inside the actors" then i changed models there.

So after you create new actors and models for your units you have to link them together? Can you please explain how to do that?
