So I want a Cone Sight with a Angle of 175° in Front of my Charakter, kinda like the real human sight.
Now I tried diffrent Options, I list them 1. and in the same breath I will tell you why they arent that perfect and why I do need help :/ .
Okay, 1. Option:
I set the sight of the Charakter to zero and create several regions that I stick in front of the person. They where revealed pereodic and sticked everytime new with a offset from the Unit. Well that works but the problem is everything is revealed and in my RPG I want to play a lot with the sight of line.
For example you cant look ahead a tree or a buildung. But you can see everything behind it becouse its getting revealed.
2. Option:
Like same things with the Data Editor, I read it here in the Forum but cant remember where exactly. So same Problem.
3. Option:
I create a Unit with a footprint in the Data-Editor that blocks sight in this certain way. This unit cant move then but I can stick it on my Unit with triggers.
So I got conesight. The problem here is that other players vision got blocked by this too and some enemys stop following me and stuff.
So got anyone any Idea about this ? Iam quite new at mapping but want this as perfect as this can be :/
plx Help, Shouchen
Try creating invisible neutral units (with a large sight radius) at regular intervals in the area of the cone in front of your unit and testing whether the neutral unit has sight of your unit. This should allow you to determine the blind spots in the cone. Then for the units that have vision, replace them with a small visibilty modifier to fill the visible portions of the cone.
