I have 2 gb system with WIn7 x86, so the problem is that its hard to test map without closing editor! Because Editor consume like 800-1000 mb! And game is lagging as hell...
so... my question is - if someone has discovered some tweaks or little tips or hints what ever, how to avoid this dragon like-consumtion...
Maybe some specific editor settings? Maybe some tips? I need any help!
______
And plz dont post stupid comments like:
1. "oh 2Gb its not enough in our hard times... bla bla"
2. "hm very strange, i have a mac with 8Gb, no problems so far..."
3. "downgrade to windows 98 it should save you - 450mb Ram"
4. "forget editor, go download some lolicon porn, hot little girls should solve it!" ( -my favorite so far)
You could get a memory cleaner, such as cleanmem. Works really nicely with dropping mem usage. It can usually drop Firefox from 50,000mb to only 1,000mb.
Yea lower the editor's textures, it'll probably help the most. Also, don't keep windows like the previewer running in the background.
Also, lower the texture settings in your game as-well.
Alternatively buy a pc like ThisIsSpoofed's one with 50GB Ram and probably 12,000 GhZ cpu :)
If you ever Test your map, open it windowed and half the size of your screen. That lowers that GPU demand.
If you don't need to have good graphics in the world editor, lower it in Preferences > Video... Texture and Shaders are recommended at the lowest you want to. Though, making a cinematic with full lighting and etc will make it difficult for you to do this.

Depending on what you do when mapping, close other windows down.
At start my editor uses 300 Mb memory, changed so it would only load the data module and not terrain. This cut me down to 133 Mb. Now, just as StarCraft 2, the editor WILL use alot of memory when you have a map open. Open a second map and it will eat even more. Kinda something you will have to live with. Im leaning towards #1.
But if that aint an option, use only the modules you need. :)
My computer is under the minimum system requirements. What I've done so far is:
1. Ensure only what you are using is opened. For example, if i'm in the data editor, I close the terrain window/trigger editor. If I switch, I close the data editor.
2. I make sure the graphic settings are all on Low.
3. When I test the map, I minimize editor, run the game in a window and shrink the window to about a third of my screen.
4. Lastly you could try using a program like Gamebooster to close down unneeded processes in the background.
5. Make sure to close any maps you aren't working on, otherwise the editor will keep them up in the background. I was opening a ton of maps and not closing them and after about 30 maps my editor was taking up far over a gig of ram.

OP: try closing the terrain window. :)
Use lower textures / don't load terrain

Hello HPX, heh.
I guess it would help to optimize the maps too to lower the GPU and CPU cost.
My pc is currently broken, so...
If dragging the edge the SC window to change the size doesn't work, change the resolution in Video settings.
