I'm trying my hand at SC2 map making, since I've a good deal of free time on my hands and want to put it to some use.
I've already worked out my plan for what I want to do. Essentially I want to add various vehicles and what not in the campaign and introduce them into melee maps with a focus on building and defense. One of my favorite parts of RTS is building a base, so want to capatalize on that. I've already thought up numerous ways to keep such a thing balanced and away from one giant turtle fest, thought the big question atm is if I can do one important aspect:
See, one important thing is the ability to put up walls, as in, ones you can walk and build on. Essentially making cliffs and ramps.
If it's not possible, I suppose I'll just make them into the maps myself. Which works in a way with what's planned, as the players will have strong incentive/be force to build around one main base, making it easier to set things up in such a way.
Couldn't you also make it some bizarre version of creepy, where nothing can climb the sides of the "creep" and can only get on in special parts?
Or am I just completely misunderstanding how to do it on a drastic scale?

very possible, just a few triggers will be needed with it, I've seen it done, but I didnt see exactly how
Could be done with data too using buffs to adjust the unit height and collision flags. Would also need custom footprints of high complexity.

Could be a simple way for pathing but creep entry prevention is not a clean way as it needs a Apply Force effect which messes with pathing.
