You cannot alter cliff levels on the fly unfortunately.
You could use terrain deformation to make it look like a cliff and put no pathing doodads on top of it to make it behave like one. And when the player uses the sketchbook item you could change the terrain deformation (which CAN be done mid-game) and remove the pathing doodads.
sounds good. What is a terrain deformation though?
P.S. Kingdom Hearts is my favorite storyline of all time (hence the heartless avatar) but Dr. Who is the close 2nd :) I've yet to see Matt Smith but I don't believe it possible for anyone to ever replace Tennant :(
terrain deformation is when you alter the height. In the terrain editor that's the third button with the options raise, lower, uniform, noise, etc. It's a purely cosmetic change, however, and it has no effect on gameplay. In Starcraft Tactics, we use terrain deformation as our height system but that required me to write a rather complex custom-pathing system.
And yeah, I really don't like Matt Smith. He is never in control of the situation and he can't pull off that sort of insane optimism that made Tennant and Eggleston enjoyable actors to watch (and believable Time Lords).
is there any way to do that NEATLY? Every time ive used that it looks incredibly sloppily..
Also, i don't see any trigger for editing the terrain at all, for deformation, cliffs, or anything, except show/hide terrain in region
Aw well now i'm upset :/ Maybe a dalek will shoot him and he'll regenerate sooner than later :P
There's not really a way to do it neatly, no. Or at least I don't know, I don't deal with terrain too much, I have people for that type of thing :> You may want to consider other options.
Yeah it's a shame. I blame it partially on the new head-writer Moffat; he had some good solo episodes in the previous seasons (like Blink) but I don't think he's doing that well as a head writer.
what are other options? >.<
Yeah, i've noticed people here do teams. All i needed was a modeler (never got one) and people to ask questions to (thank god for the IRC) and.. well, this is the very last thing to do before the 1st draft of my demo is complete :)
Man that sucks.. Blink (and Silence in the Library) were both freaking awesome episodes. I heard they made an entire world of weeping angels...
alright so i made it so that there's the temple crumbling wall thing doodad and pathing blockers, when door is used, it kills the blockers and removed the doodad and makes the StoreFrontWindows actor (my doors) except it's facing 0 instead of 90 and it's the 1st variation and not the 4th :( help?

I need to make
http://static.sc2mapster.com/content/images/22/765/pic.jpg
turn into
http://static.sc2mapster.com/content/images/22/766/pic2.jpg
via trigger. So basically i need to flatten the indented cliffs down to the normal floor and create a doodad in region..
If anyone has any other suggestions, this is for my Somnium map, making the Door sketchbook item work.
Thanks in advance

Oops, I forgot to mention that. There's an actor called Terrain Deformation (or something like that). See: http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/tutorials/895-data-terrain-actors-how-to-do-live-otf-terrain-deformation/
