I'm just about ready to publish a custom map that took a lot of work to make.
A few final things I could not find on the internet.
1) How do I change the max number of units for each player from the default 200? I want to go up? Is there a max upper limit?
2) How do I choose the game speed mode? Faster, etc.
3) I modified some of the existing units abilities (I did not make copies, actors, etc.), so I'm hoping when I publish this will not be all overwritten by server. Otherwise what would be the point?
To change supply cap go to your triggers add action Modify player property change minerals to supplies
server doesn't over write your map settings and to change game speed, that done in game only i believe
Ok, as far as supply, could you walk me through this step by step?
Don't see any "Add Section" area.
Very new to that aspect.
As far as faster game speed, the "Fastest Map Possible", for example, by Wolf, plays at the Faster game speed. I seem to remember this somewhere in the editor, but totally can't find it again. This is not a biggie, however, as I have already modified resource gathering up to 25 per turn, so it makes building way faster (without changing game speed).
As far as supply, I read somewhere it's impossible to change without some mod. I was going to just change the supply cost of all units to 1, but I haven't even figured out how to do that yet.
If there was a way to just globally change the supply cap, that'd be awesome.
But it'd be great to know how to modify the supply costs of units to 1 too.
The map I made would make you use ground units more. Just tired of spaceship spam in the fastest maps out there, so my map is totally way more strategy oriented.
I did nifty things with cloak too and modifying unit abilities.
For unit supply take up, Data editor>Unit>Stats>Food
Also if you want an alternative to the unit cap you could just make a building or unit in some random part of the map for every player and change the food to 10000 (giving you 10000 supply)
I just changed the supply cost of everything to 1, which will give you way more units, but this sound really cool if I could find it.
Also, does anyone know how to change max number of harvesters per resource? This used to be called "stack" in old SC1.
I've been digging in the Starcraft II Map Editor, but can't find this anywhere. Not really crucial since there seems to be a benefit to multiresource harvesting in the map I created anyway, but this would be nice to know.
Honestly if your only wanting to limit it there is no point to increase it. The best systems only the best computers out there have no problems with max units. If you want to limit it to lets say 30 then there would be a point. But a way around it is also if you want to increase just change the food count for the units your using to equal less or more to compensate for the 200 count. That would be easiest.

Food? Where the heck is that?

I'm just about ready to publich this thing!

Ok I looked under "Barracks" as an example and "Marine" stats in SCII editor, but there seems to be no "food" category.

I dont think changing the player property supply limit works, or if it does its not what I thought it was.
There is a coding way to up the cap... just above my pay grade sorry (it is setting a trigger to act at the start upping it i believe)
+1 for what... 200vs200 lags anyway
ps: good luck :)
Go to Data Module >>>Races and you can change the supply cap for whatever race u want also add more resources.
