FYI, there is already a team working on a SC1 remake. No they are not recruiting currently.
I'm going to be blunt about the maps. They are awful, just like almost every other SC1 remake map I've seen (here, on hive, on staredit, battle.net, wherever).
- the terrain is just fill-brushed with one texture, and it's the wrong texture (unless you really don't like blizzards interpretation of mar sara)
- no doodads, no decorations; blizzard maps have about 2k doodads, aim for at least 50% of that
- there is no AI, no attack waves, no nothing, just pre-placed hostiles - which means that the crude tactic of massing up and steamrolling the enemy from SC1 still works here
- it's as simple as the original missions, that might have been ok in 1998, but not today
- I'd say more, but I can't even open the maps, they require a mod which isn't there
If you want to learn how to make a good remake (and good maps in general), go take a look at Starcraft Prologue Remake. It was made months before SC2 release and it's still the best remake map around (might be a bit buggy now, especially the placeholder firebats, but I beat it a few days ago)
Sorry for lashing out like that, nothing personal. My awful-remake-map cup was almost full...
Still work in progress. they were far from finished. I was attempting to keep close to the orginal mission. as for the dependency i uploaded it to battle net so not sure why it didn't load for you. I am learning as i go, but terran03 is where attack waves and what not start to find themselves comming into play and forcing me to learn more trigger stuff.
Mod file published to battlenet only works for map published to bnet and use that mod. If any player testing your map locally in the editor, there's no way then can find your mod. And also if the're in a different region too.
I like the idea, I love that you used all the old voices (maybe take it a step further and change the sounds of attacks, clicks etc.). but this is a Huuuuuge (yes capital H)project and unless it's done to the core don't believe anybody will bother playing it (which is suppose is the goal :D). I think adding your own twist should be avoided as that sort of kills the entire remake idea. coop = win.
I hope to see the first two missions done to "perfection" soon :D
I do plan on adding all of the sounds and what not, as for my own spin the only addition i plan on making is the co-op ability. the rest i plan on keeping true. No need to fix what isn't broken
If anyone want to help I'm all for it as you said it is a HUGE project and alot to do. so if someone wants to help let me know if not ill just keep hammering away at it.

Just getting accustomed to the new editor and im slowly working on porting it all. The twist is it is 2 player co-op,
any feedback is welcomed.
