hey guys i need an helper for my map battle suit on europe servers
map is based on an special forces
u got an civilian that can calldown suits that he can enter very different types of suits are aviable for different costs and with lots of attachments
what i need help for:
currently the attached turrets or units are just visibly and i used an trigger to attach the turrets units with an invisible model to the unit so the attached stuff does not rotate not cklickable
but invisible turrets still does dmg and shoot anim etc
what i want:
basicly the same like in voidcraft clickable turrets on the suits that can be upgradet to stronger turrets or tanks what ever
the one that can help me will be written as an mapmaker in loadingscreen and can feel free to make suggestions to the map
map can allready be found at side 2 on european servers
For a start I advise giving credit to all those people whose ubers you stole and secondly at least mentioning this site on the load screen.
There are also some bugs such as the civilian respawn can target cliffs where it becomes trapped. The uberlisk still attacks with tentacles even when trapped in a void prism by thor4. Mutalisks dont level and any converted zerg dont have any durability worth mentioning.
Finally I believe voidcraft needs triggers not data to get the turret effect.

That only works for models not whole units. So far there is no known method of doing that with pure data.
Though I do not see why you couldnt use attachments for your thor turrets and just upgrade the model using your main research building. It would be no different from the uberlisk's tentacles or the leviathan tentacles. Also in your map the siege tanks and other turrets are so small you couldnt select them anyhow without automatic control groups.
As you are using buffs to direct their behavior you could simply enable/disable the various attacking buffs with tech.
Yup have thought of a method where you can upgrade your turrets/tanks using pure data and having them as attachments.
thats an good idea i could just make upgrades that changes the weapons that the attachments are using but how can i do change the moddels from the attachments via data again in trigegrs its easy but how to in data =)
Can do though you could also make it more dynamic in that each thor has to be upgraded where you could use a system of ability instants and buffs which would allow a tree of mutually exclusive choices able to be changed based on the individual thor.
Also another consideration is the inconsistency with thor upgrades gaining and losing abilities at random such as thor 0.5,2-3 having good area damage spells while four suddenly has rather lame slow moves.
As for Voidcraft. My brother has just cracked the map open like a raw egg and confirms it is all triggers that get the effect you initially wanted.
Other bugs are immortal 1 not being able to use vortex due to a lack of energy and the immortal 0 cloaking tooltip being wrong. The tech tree for the base is messed up and alot of stuff costs more vespene gas than is availible eg diamond backs. The upgrades for infantry and viechles is insignificant compared to the damage needed/dealt. Hellions need a damage boost. The final area suffers from congestion and lag even on easy. The kills do not save for all players.

i was thinking about removing the graviton and give splash speel again

i didnt made much on writing stuff like descriptions yet becouse map is still in alpha stage thats only side stuff that i will do when i finished the more necesary stuff
i did the prised that high becouse you shouldnt be able to buy all quick when u come at base u will get some vispene geysears that will give u enough gas to buy needet upgrades
lag is coused becouse of the mass of units i dont got any problems there but im still looking for an solution to make it more playable for ppl with no high end pcs
Even for two players the vespene is not enough for the needed upgrades. My brother won the map was in the second lower team slot and his save bank said 0 kills. Twice.
So you think you got the attachments sorted?

I have no problem if you want to use the Hulking Horror Uber I "made" a while back, but if you already have the map posted on BNet, why would you wait until AFTER you complete the map in full to give credit where it's due? Credit should be given the minute you use something that someone else did wether the map is complete or not.
I'm thinking it might take a while to reach that stage(completed) since you yourself are hoping to get a data editor on your team/to help you out.
The map was posted so that other people could learn and see how it was done(and to get their own ideas), not so it could straight up be taken and thrown into their map with NO credit whatsoever, and without even asking.
It's not like I'm inactive on the site or just disappeared off the planet and there was no way to even message me to ask.
It's just polite to ask is all. Some people would be livid.
i think i will do it like it is and just change the weapons effects with upgrades
i will do some specific upgrades for each tree like the flamer can buy side splash or front splash and can get only 1 tech tree etc and i will do specific upgrades like u can choose between higher armor but less dmg then (tank mode)
or higher dmg with less survivability
im open for any suggestions, that will be give credits on loadingscreen
allso i could do an personal comand for helpers or people i got units from like borgdragon =)
sure the attack visuals get changed but not the turret or thor on itself becouse i cant get it to work to change model after upgrade dont know why i did it like with an normal actor but it does not work with the attachments

Under actor events there is a convenient action called Model Swap or you could just destroy the attachment and create a new one.

as u can see i changed the hulking hoorer to fit in my map i jsut took the name and the attachments
and i allready made the credits
i uploadet to test with my frends and make my beta testers the map aviable to play
im sorry if i did something that made u mad wasnt thinking that people will have problems with it in future i will ask bevore

No chat commands even if locked to a certain player are not recommended because they can be abused and ruin the game balance.
So you wont change the visuals of the models for the secondary attacks?
Since the thors and odins all look very similar you could change their diffuse textures to give the various versions some individuality.

Just have on the upgrade being completed the new model is created and the old one is destroyed.
