Ok, so I have a turret...And I changed its weapon, I changed from auto turret weapon thing, to the Battlecrusier ATS laserbattery(whatever its called).
And for some reason it's shooting out of the bottom of the turret...not from the barrel of the gun. I made a flamethrower turret and that seems to work.
And another question I have a basic turret and it has the same weapons and everything, but when it fires there is no sound or animation.
Search turret, specifically the tutorial of Prozaic Muze and the part where he warns you "If you don't do this step, likely the missiles will come out of the unit's feet instead, whenever I hear people ask about what's wrong its always that."
Are you using the base ATS laser battery or a copy of it?
The #1 cause of my problems with missiles launching from the "origin" are that the missiles don't match up between the weapon effects and the actor. Make sure that the missile unit is set properly in your (Missile) effect, and make sure that your attack actor has the right actor for your attack missile set. Another problem could be that your launch attachment points in the attack actor aren't compatible with your attacking unit. Copy the launch attachments from the attack actor of your original unit (like the auto turret attack) and paste it into the attack actor for your weapon.
I have a similar problem, thought I should use this thread instead of making another.
I have 2 turrets set up on my custom unit. 1 at the front and 1 at the back.
When setting the attachement points for where the weapon fire starts, I can set both weapons to either front or back, and it'll fire from that turret. However my problem is when I try to assign a weapon to fire from the front AND the back, it begins firing from either the base of the unit or the centre. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? It's not a huge issue for non-projectile/beam weapons, but for those it's pretty obvious that it's not in the right spot. I have no idea why it won't work. It's 2 seperate weapons, 2 seperate SOPAttach points and 2 seperate turrets.
