I've followed one of the unit and hero creation guides in the web, and while i had my problems, in it end it worked.
But there are still two problems im having.
1. My unit i have copied and made my hero from is the marauder, it lacks the attack animation with its arm, when it attacks.The projectile and explosion is showing up, but not his "hand movement", he's is just standing still.
2. My second problem is that he still does 10 + 20 damage (to armoured) and the extra damage he receives from his attributes, are just added to both of these values as +x(the plus green numbers)The damage itself is not changed at all.
If i however change the Weapon's "effect" and "UI - Damage display effect" from 'marauder - punisher grenades' to the weapon itself, then his damage becomes the value i chose in 'combat - amount' under effects.BUT, then its damage is not increased by the attributes anymore and he is not even showing a projectile or splash animation when hitting the target, it just receives damage with no effect what so ever.
So what could the reason for this be?I want to get rid of the green + numbers in attack, and fix that he is properly attacking with his arm.
1. Sounds like you messed up the Action type actor associated with the attack
2. If you duped the weapon you will find there is a duped Damage type effect and that UI field you edited refers to that as base damage. Your other issues sound like a classic dupe problem of you altering the name and clicking the Suggest ID button which delinks all stuff associated with that dupe (actors included). Changing the weapons Effect completely changes what effect tree it uses when firing so you might as well be making it into a completely different weapon. The UI - Damage Display purely links to what Damage effect to show when you move the mouse over the weapon icon as the weapon damage.
Simple fix go to the UI - Display Flags field of the Damage effect and enable the Collapse Buffed flag.
1. How many Action type actors do you have associated with the attack? All actors are found under the Actors data type. An alternative problem could be that the events of your marauder Unit actor have become messed up with duping so it is no longer playing the correct animation when using the Launch Missile effect.
2. With the marauder weapon the weapon has a Launch Missile effect in the Effect - Effect field. This effect determines what missile unit is launched from the unit to the impact point and the associated Missile actor determines what the missile looks like. On impact a Set effect is used which applies the slow buff using a Apply Behavior effect and the damage effect. So in summary set the UI - Damage Display Effect field to the Damage effect of the effect tree your Effect - Effect field is set to and in that Damage effect used by the effect tree your weapon is set to use, enable that flag mentioned in the previous post.

I'm was having the same problem with the TerraTron. Eventually i just had to copy the unit except for the actor. the actor had to be remade all over again. Now my problem is that his attack animation is when he launches a saw at you >.> Anyway, you might have to make a copy and do the actor data yourself, that worked for me, except now i need to think of a solution to his arm (dont think it wont work 'cause of terratron, he's not a real unit...yet, whereas marauders are and so you just need to find the correct animation for it to play and it should work flawlessly.)
P.S. anyone know how to add an animation? such as the hyperions attack on the head of a Terratron?

1. And where did i mess that up? There are quite a lot of 'actor' things, where exactly can i find it?in unit, weapon, effect?etc.
