I think the only thing that changed about how this works is that instead of loading a model into the Previewer you use the Cutscene Editor to find out which materials are used by the model.

yeah i can't find a thing. show me a screenshot of latest UI. i think it is easy to post a pic if you think it is easy to change skins instead of teasing me? i dont think i am the only one who doesnt understand them. also i looked at cutscene editor. http://i.imgur.com/BGBkK6c.jpg
I followed this tutorial a month or 2 ago and got it working. This method will not update the texture in the editor - only in-game. Perhaps that's your problem?
it would be impossible to know it if you didnt tell me unless i am a jesus.
That's because you clicked on the model file, which is btw not called "PrisonZealot" but "Prisoner Zealot", and not on the model that you loaded into the current scene in the bottom left.
Shift+D worked regardless because the Blizzard devs sometimes know what they are doing and make their systems failproof and easy to work with.

where is prisonzealot? you are talking something without a picture. it looked like you are teasing me. btw it is not only one thing that changed. however i found the way works 100%. http://www.galaxywiki.net/Custom_Unit_Textures (this one is the best one. i got it worked)
5) http://i.imgur.com/NMDqey9.jpg (the result. i couldn't find the way to make it show in editor with timer thing. but i dont need to see it in editor really cuz i can see the textures. the color of texture does match with unit in game)

anyone got new guide for latest editor?
Even though minor aspects in the tutorial seems very outdated the descriptive text is still reliant on how to set and apply textures.
well the UI looks different. i dont understand.

Yeah, I'd like to know too.
who can understand that really with wrong guide? i will post a guide for you here if one of them tells me truth. it would take 3 seconds to explain.
Right click on PrizonZealot and click on "Show Model Data", or shortcut Shift+D.
@Bommes: Go

1) http://i.imgur.com/4smZG17.jpg (the name must be same. you must type diffuse_blood not diffuse or diff)
2) http://i.imgur.com/5sXzFi4.jpg (type _diffuse_blood and main and unit name Marine_)
3) http://i.imgur.com/qa1t7oM.jpg (you dont need to type main.diffuse.blood. Type main.diffuse)
4) http://i.imgur.com/DRkzzCZ.jpg (actor creation - textureselectbyid -> find the texture you made on textures tab)

@jabbedxorz: Go
Use a timer to texture change to get it to show up in the editor
@cleanto: Go
It is in the wol campaign mod.
Next to the cutscene editor being added all is the same.
The slot part is for some models that have multiple diffuse textures in the same file.
Save map and reload for the texture swap to be visible.
