Im in need of help for duplicating a Utralisk, When I get the box for selecting which objects, I select the ones Im gonna modiffy ( on Pic 1), after a whole day I tested and couldnt make the attack animation to work, After duplicate it, of couse both original and the copy get the same name, for the looks It gets buggy (pic 2). Then When I tried for 2 other ways, that didnt worked because of the same problem of the animation. Im a dumass on events, i understand the basics how it works but dont know how to corretly set up that. I tried to reset the actors, then again duplicate it and associate it but like it just dont work. Probably Im having a Problem and I dont know it probably exist.with well It's beeen like a wall and i need help I appreciate anything.
Im still getting the problem, I will upload the map File since I don't now what can be, maybe the way am I changing things? It will be clear to see, use the drop down menu as source to see map data. The name is Torrasque

I want to practically to create a new unit where I modify the effects, weapons, but for that I have to make new actors ( Ultralisk have 3: Ultralisk, Ultralisk Attack, Ultralisk Head Attack)
It works perferct when I do not change the weapon, I tried by: creating new weapon without new effects (was based on the original), also by duplicating the weapon, then duplicating the effects and the weapons, and still the animation attack doesnt show. All tokens were checked.
I think on ending the threat here and making a new one called ( How to change weapons and actors on a unit)
then duplicate the weapon with everything in it ( actors , effects , etc ... )
then if you want to change the effect and the model of the attack , Then do it without changing the actor
for example .... if you want the ultralisk to do somekind of big explosion with large search of damage , Simply just go to the model in the weapon and change the model of the slash to anything you want , After that just go to the effect and increase the damage search or whatever changes you want
the actors wont change that way , But if the problem still shows up then your duplicate is wronge somehow
This is a common problem when duplicating units that have burrowed equivalent.
Go to Units -> Ultralisk (Burrowed) Copy" -> Name : and change it to point Ultralisk2.
After this, play with "Reset Unit to Parent" option to restore original Ultralisk name.
Here you go, attached map of fully duplicated Ultra, called Torrasque.
If you compare it to the original Ultra, you will find one thing missing.
Try to fix it, and I promise that you will learn a lot about actors.
For the attack, go to your ultra actor. go to events,
The should be an event like weaponstart.[nameofweapon].attackstart
change the weapon name to your weapon.

Ok I saw some intresting things, but very confusing (Growing by the second lol):
I like to use the option of Display all source objects, because I can see if I modified the original or made a copy of it. I saw 2 Ultralisk, one from libertymulti.SC2Mod the other from liberty.SC2Mod both in blue, and saw the sources to see hows that, and notice you have an extra one on your map. and I saw my dependencies and I just had 1 (lol) the Liberty Campaign, then added the others, and had one more ultra in blue, so to clarify, because i feel overwhelmed by all this and a bit frustrated at the moment, how did you actually do? did you selected the original and the duplicate it? or just add unit? then change the duplicated actor?
and why is that when I duplicate the source object also the source object changes name to copy? (most annoying thing ever!)
And last but not least, does these extra dependencies make my map laggier in any way for processing?

Cleanup after is important. I know this is very confusing at first, but don't give up.
I had very similar problem when I first tried to duplicate command center, (oh that was pain).
It is because of how text fields are organized, in unit you only have a key (Unit\Name\Ultralisk),
and this key is used to read global data table, where proper text to show will be.
When you are duplicating, text key stays the same (Unit\Name\Ultralisk) but name changes to "Ultralisk Copy".
Old unit, still uses key Unit\Name\Ultralisk however when game tries to read this value it will find "Ultralisk Copy" there.
Here is your map again:
Ultralisk Head Attack is actually only for sounds and impact effect on models that it hits.
You need to change Combat: Impact Map: Sound -> Ultralisk_HeadAttackImpact, rest can stay with (Unknown).
Also, I believe it should be Effect.HeadAttack.>>>Start<<< in events.
If you don't specify Start, or Stop or else, it will be run multiple times for all of them.
Animation is in actor called just "Torrasque". Events are everything.
Exactly like original attack animation is done (well, almost) you should be doing head attack.

@willuwontu is right you need to check every event in every actor , cuz sometimes when you duplicate actors .... the event dose not get changed to the new unit that you created
for example .... if you duplicate an animation of attack the actor would be like this :
effect ( what ever the weapon effect is ... ) started
Create ( animation or model )
but the problem there is that the effect is set to the old weapon NOT for the duplicated weapon
and that can happen to many actors , So go check them all

Firstly check everything you copied is linking to the correct thing for example your unit actor is linking to your dupe and not the original.

go to the weapons tab
