In my custom map, I'm allowing Vultures to be built by the Factory. But, they already come with Spider Mines. How do I make it so you have to research the Spider Mine ability BEFORE they are available?
In the Tech Lab, I created the "Research Spider Mines" button and ability, but there are two main problems:
- The button doesn't disappear after it is upgraded
- Vultures still have the Mines before the upgrade.
I went to the Vulture's "Use Spider Mines" -> "Ability - Commands +" and tried to add in a Requirement for the Execute command, but could not find Spider Mines Researched or something like that.
Pretty much you are on the right track, Except you do not want to add requirements in the Command Card + section.
Copy from the marine/marauder the stim ability, copy and paste the requirement & validator, change "stim pack" to "spider mines", then add that to the Spider Mines upgrade button on the Factory, and also tie it to the Spider Mines ability.
It's not work because the game don't leave me edit requirements but also i can't find the requirement ''research spider mines''

OK. There is NO requirement for Spider Mines research because it doesn't exist... you start with it by default, why bother having a requirement that it be upgraded?
I assume you have your buttons and upgrade finished for spider mines research, so I will skip ahead to the requirements & setting everything properly.
Firstly, create a new Requirement type Upgrade, call it Use Spider Mines. modify the Requirement + field, click on the USE folder, right click, Add Requirement Node, set Type to Count Upgrade, Alias to Vulture - Spider Mines (or whatever you call your upgrade), State to Completed. For the tooltip, add something like "Research Spider Mines at the Factory Tech Lab"
Second, create a new Requirement type Upgrade, call it Learn Spider Mines. modify the Requirement + field, click on the SHOW folder, right click, Add Requirement Node, set Type to Not, click on Not, right click, Add Requirement Node, set type to Count Upgrade, Alias to Vluture - Spider Mines, State to Queued or Better, leave the tooltip blank.
Go to the Abilities tab, find Tech Lab Research (Factory), modify it's Ability - Info + field, add a new research for Spider Mines in any Research slot that is empty, choose your Research Spider Mines button, Info - Button - State set to Restricted, Info - Button - Requirement set to Learn Spider Mines, modify the mineral/gas cost under Info - Tech Resource Cost, Info - Time set to however long you want the upgrade to take before being researched, Info - Upgrade to Spider Mines.
in the Abilities tab again, find Spider Mines, modify the Ability - Commands + field, click on the first field of the new box, should be Execute Command or something like that, State set to Available if it isn't, set your requirement to Use Spider Mines.
and that's it. Game over. Now you should be all set for researchable Spider Mines.

There's not any requirement Tab and i can't create one so how i can change requirements...
I have change requirement from units Tab - Vulture & ability-command unit & spider mines but it doesn't work.
When you are in the Data Editor, there's " Data Type " in the top left corner with a dropdown menu. From the Dropdown Menu, select Requirements, then make your requirements in there.
Putting the requirements directly on the button, through the unit's Ability - Command Card + field doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. In my experience, it just bugs out. NONE of the default abilities on ANY unit, weather locked by research or not, DOES NOT have a requirement set in the unit's Ability - Command Card + field.
EDIT: I've attached a map that has a working Vulture Spider Mine upgrade. 20 seconds to research the spider mines. Just take a look at my map, and follow the green items! Units Tab, Buttons Tab, Upgrades tab, Requirements Tab, Abilities Tab. Those are the only 5 tabs you need open in the Data Editor to do what I did.

hmm, in the abilities tab, when you double click the Ability - Commands + field (where the red arrow is pointing) the box you see in the picture opens. That is where you add requirements to research.
Data Editor. Open the tab for Abilities. Search for Spider, and select Vulture - Use Spider Mines. In the right side of the data editor, you will see the line Ability - Commands + in a column. In the next column, you double click where it says (Deploy Spider Mine|):((Disabled|Disabled)|(bunch of other stuff).
Then you get a window that pops up called Object Values. set the Requirements to " Use Spider Mines".
It's look like my galaxy is bugged or missing stuffs or something. I open ur map and saw this menu but when i open my map my menu is pretty different and cant find many things like requirements field values and more :/
Maybe bad downloading or maybe old version or bugged... :S
For example i can increase size on many units but i cant on marauder for example because models tag don't appear O_o it's not my fault
Bugged? Any idea? Can i redownload galaxy from somewhere?
EDIT: Do you know how create custom Alias? and why when i researh spider mines give to vulture 2 more mines :/ (5)
Oh. In the data editor, in the top right, you want the 5 buttons on the right pressed in, and you want the 6th button to the left UN-pressed. Just have it look like this picture, and you should be all set.
I can't believe that in 6 hours NO ONE ELSE has bothered to suggest this... I went to bed and everything...
