what you are talking about is not a doodad, don't try to go to the doodad editor in interacting with stuff you will waste 5 very stressful hours. all i know is that it can be done by making it a sort of unit, notice that all the pickups are in the units and not the doodads. in short you cannot interact with doodads in game, although you can remove doodads in triggers a unit cannot interact with a doodad. you can make a pickup with the model of a box though but don't go to box doodad.
There is a unit in the campaign dependencies called Gas Pallet, it is picked up by an autocast Effect - Target ability that does the effect and destroys the unit.
If you want a destructible like Destructible Rocks - 6x6 just enable the destructible flag under the Unit - Flags field
If you want it to be an item then I advise you look at:
What's the simplest way to make crates - right click able?
Where your unit will auto walk to within melee range and 'open it' - causing it to be destroyed and sometimes leaving a treasure.
Just do how they did for the collectable gas/mineral palletes in the campaign.
