How do you give a structure a functional unit ability. I can copy the ability and the button but when I test it it does nothing. However if I add the same ability to another unit then there is no problem.
What do I need to change in the ability and/or structure code to make this work?
Yeah, you must double check ability, especially target filters (If using self-buff or stuff be sure it desn't exclude structures etc), and when using any target-stuff ability be sure your building can either rotate towards target, has a turret that can cast it, or ability arc is wide enough.
I am trying to give a barracks the ability to shoot a nuke. The barracks can target with a nuke but the only target it will actually fire on when selected is itself.
I am trying to figure out if there is a target range feature or something like that that I need to increase to allow it to fire on other units.
go to the Ability Tab, look for Ghost - Nuclear Strike. Ability - Arc field is default 0, because the ghost must be facing the target. Change the arc to 360 and your barracks can calldown nukes all day long.
