First check if the Research type ability for the structure is linked to that upgrade, second chack the requirements used by that upgrade button on the ability.

Templar Archives- Research shows the button, upgrades, and requirements for the Khaydarin amulet in place. The button shows the ability and the building, and the requirements seem similar to psistorm. However if Ability Command in the command card is set to Research Khaydarin Amulet the button disappears. If I set it to research psistorm the button is there, but is obviously launching the wrong ability.
I believe its a dependency issue. Try to add a new button and set it to research Khaydarin Amulet. If it doesn't work add a new entry for this research in the Templar Archives research ability and use this entry.
So in the data editor the khaydarin amulet shows as a possible upgrade at the templar archives. Does anyone know why the button won't show up?
If I set the ability command to research psi storm, than the button does show up, but of course the action researches psi storm.
