does anybody know how to get textures out of a .3ds or .max file. when opening the material editor there appear no textures but applied colours to certain objects. is there any way to extract all those colours and create one big jpg (w/e) that acts like a texture?
hope i was able to describe my problem

thx in advance for any response
Don't really get it. But I'll give it a shot.
So you don't actually have textures but really what you have is a bunch of colored-only shaders and those have been applied to the model?
You'll have to do the texture yourself pretty much.
What you have to do is:
1. Make a DDS file containing all the colors (can be little squares or whatever)
2. unwrap/give uv coordinates to the objects of the model separately accordingly to the number of colors you have
3. I realise that you're most likely not getting me
4. Edit the uvw coordinates to "fit completely" the colors you have.
5. apply your new colored texture as a material and it'll be done
OR you can just send me the model so I can make up a video tutorial about it. Still don't really get the question that much, though.
@xcorbo: Go
I guess you got the question right :P
This should work.
a tutorial would be awesome. a free model is attached. hopefully before my 30 days trial runs out :D
