Well, I'm not a 3D artist like many others here, I don't have the experience or the studies but I've been working on 3ds Max (architectural visualizations) for quite awhile now.
I love sc2 and mapmaking and I've decided to start learning how to do custom models. So I think this is the place to ask for opinions and tips on how to do a decent sc2 model, texturize it and animate it.
I've just started helping Colt556 in his Halo Wars Map
If you are using turbo smooth or any subsurface modifiers I would turn them off. Sc2 certainly can't handle the number of polys on that model. try to keep the number of triangles around 3000 or less.
Also I'd be careful making halo models. might get into some copyright issues.
@OP You really dont have to be careful there are already a few halo models, I would still alter it quite a bit to make it an original creation, the work looks great though. But remember, if you dont alter it and keep it in its current form as a halo model, then any map with it will not be able to be featured without it being removed first.
Yeah I know about the copyright issues, I'm gonna make some changes once I get to the level I think is fine. I'm gonna keep working and see if I can upload some new updates tonight.

So any help or suggestion is good, like I said, I've never done this before so be nice.
I don't know if I should make it with separate volumes or just one, since the first model is the wraith it has few animations.
Reserved.
Reserved. BTW, Supernoob question, how do I put the pictures in "big" size on the page? How do I write the code?
Wow... this looks amazing.

@FenixKissKerrigan: Go Thanks a lot man, really means a lot to me.
@phanalax128: Go Lol, didn't know that, thanks for the tip, gonna make the curves different then.

Also as a sidenote, I'm following this: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/artist-tavern/9662-article-modelling-and-exporting-for-star-craft2/#p1
Are those plugins and stuff still working or there are new/better versions?
