First off, i just recently started using 3ds max and installed the plugins.
When i first tried to import a model from Starcraft 2 (Nova.m3) i got the message that several textures were missing.
I went ahead and put the missing textures in the "maps" folder. After that, it seemed that the model imports fine.
Although it said that the import was successful, it seems like the textures were not imported as well. When i render the model, the textures applied are the default colors. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this before? What am i doing wrong that the textures are not importet as well?
Basicly, i want to import some models from sc2 to 3ds max and from there to maya 8.5.
Did you check if the box for importing materials was checked? If you go to the material editor are there SC2materials, are they missing the maps? or there's just 3ds max materials?
Could be lots of things. But no, never had this problem.
You have to be using SC2Material and SC2Shader. These should be supplied in the .m3exporter tools as a script, "SC2plugins"
His problem is that the textures do not import at all, not when he's trying to export the model + texture.
And I'm sorry, I completely forgot about this, does the model just lose the materials? Does it still have the UVW coordinates? if it does then just make a new material, select your maps as diffuses and apply them to the model, should be good. Since you want it to be exported to maya anyway.
If you don't want to reimport back to sc2 make sure you don't use the custom material provider with the exporter as it'll just be unsupported in maya.

When importing, i checked "import materials" and every other checkbox. The material editor only shows the default 3ds max materials.
The model im trying to import is the nova model from the campaign (cinematic model).
