Uhm not to sound rude, but is 80k for a game mod really justified?
I understand why indie games need funding. Getting familiar with a game engine or building one yourself is very time consuming and can be frustrating.
They reuse a ton of pregiven assets, indie devs have to create all the assets (or most) from scratch which is a TON of work.
I might just be missing a lot or something, if that is the case, i apologize.
Can anyone kinda explain why what makes SCU so special that they need funding for it?
First off, i just recently started using 3ds max and installed the plugins.
When i first tried to import a model from Starcraft 2 (Nova.m3) i got the message that several textures were missing.
I went ahead and put the missing textures in the "maps" folder. After that, it seemed that the model imports fine.
Although it said that the import was successful, it seems like the textures were not imported as well. When i render the model, the textures applied are the default colors. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this before? What am i doing wrong that the textures are not importet as well?
Basicly, i want to import some models from sc2 to 3ds max and from there to maya 8.5.
Wow... Blizzard sould show this at the next Blizzcon.
The possibility of making such a amazing map would be a reason to buy this game for a lot of people.
Really impressive work, i cant imagine how you got all this stuff from cod4, the weapons are xmodel files, wich can easily be converted to .obj files, but how did you get the animations? Plus, the weapon, the muzzleflash, and the ejecting bullets are not in one file! Maan this is really stunning what youve got there. Im looking forward already to play some AC130 Co-op action in Starcraft 2 :D
I think a lot of people complained about that there is no mouse motion in the SC2 editor avaiable, you could only detect if someone clicks on the map.
Well now in the after patch 13, i noticed the button: (in file -> preferences) "Camera" > "Invert Mouse Motion"
Maybe this is already old news, but i didnt heared it from anywhere, that they`ve used that.
I havent tested it out yet, dunno how to use it on the first view, but can anyone affirm that this is the thing a lot of people waited for?
Is it possible to launch 3v3 maps? When i make a map with 6 or 8 Players, and 8 players join, can we play 3v3 or 4v4 then?
I dont think so, but it would be interesting to know.
as far as i know, there are 2 Hydras. One is the default one, and one is the burrowed one. So if you create your burrowed one and click unburrow, it transformes into the hydra because the link is still the same. That means: Hydra(burrowed) -> Hydra(unburrowed)
and: Herohydra(burrowed) -> Hydra(burrowed).
You not only have to duplicate the burrowed units, youll also have to create a unburrowed stat of your hero, and make it so that the link leads to the Herohydra and not the default hydra.

When importing, i checked "import materials" and every other checkbox. The material editor only shows the default 3ds max materials.
The model im trying to import is the nova model from the campaign (cinematic model).

How the fuck did they manage that xD. The files weren`t included with the beta, otherwise they`d released it already.
Is there any way, a normal user as me can get it?
Means, can i download it?

I am totally confudes right now...
Is that the official Editor, or is it a custom made one?
It may be really stupid to ask this question, but on the official forums, there`s no sign of a Patch 9, or the Galaxy Editor.
Is it open for download?
