Topic. Looking for a bit of terrain (or otherwise) that can allow ranged fire across, butnot melee attacks or units to cross. I would prefer not to use raised platforms. Thanks in advance :)
hm. are there any kind of... low walls or something that would accomplish that? i'm trying to create a u-turn shaped path where the ranged units could shoot at each other as they pass, and i was hoping for something like a low wall, although i do know that i could use platforms to achieve the same purpose. although, now that i've stopped to think about it more, i think, thematically, space platforms might make more sense anyway...should have thought of that before :S
Lower the terrain. Instead of raising it a cliff level, lower it into the negative cliff level. That makes a big hole which no unit can walk on but it shouldn't impair vision. Or you could probably place some doodads down and then paint no-path over them.
hm i think the no-path was exactly what i'd originally needed...didn't think of that (still kinda new to this). ultimately though the space platform works perfectly, i think it suits the map better anyway. :D

You could use lowered platforms, or try using pathing that does not allow movement on that spot, but allows ranged units to attack.
