How would I go about fixing it so an SCV can build things that normally aren't even 'built,' e.g. a standalone Reactor (without a barracks, starport, or factory), Orbital Command, or Xel'Naga watchtower?
I figured I could just copy the Build abilities from something like a regular Command Center, but I can't seem to find the actual build abilities. I keep just getting back to the buttons. What am I missing?
How to build your own tech-tree. This covers making a probe build a new building. The process is essentially the same for what you want, just make the scv build your building instead of the probe.
yep was just what i needed. just had to change it up a little bit, wasn't too hard. i am having one resultant problem though... i've got my guy able to successfully build a reactor without any other buildings attached to it, but i can't figure out how to make the bloody thing stay upright... it's always flat on the ground, as if you had built it on a barracks then lifted the barracks off. I tried negating both the ReactorIsDetached and TechReactorIsDetached validators, and also tried cahnging the ReactorNotBarracks/Factory/Starport ones to not equal to, but nothings doing the job.
am i missing something obvious? (probably)
::edit:: nevermind. I didn't actually solve that problem, but after moving on, I did discover that when the reactor is training a unit, it goes upright and uses the active animation too, so it kinda bounces down and back up between units training, which is not really intentional but looks kinda cool anyway, so... :p
::edit again:: erm. thanks zelda! and yes, it does. :P

yeah its prety easy
find your SCV unit
- go to SCV - build ( abilitie )
- add the building you want ( almost all building from doodas are there )
- add the building/abilitie to your SCV command card , your done!
In the SCV build abilitie you decide the Cost and w/e of the building.
3 step prosses.
well mroe then 3 step if u modifi3e the building and give it a custum button ;)
@Selfcreation: Go

Just look under the actor events for it and remove those responsible to it becoming inactive.
