I found in the files the old Soul hunter model's attacks and upgrade affect for their weapons. On both of those upgrade affects however it seems that the Soul hunter (Whose actual model is not around) has it's animations attached to the effect, possibly so they'd be in sync as the unit upgraded instead of just attaching a glow affect or something. Would it be possible for someone to take this model (Which apparently still has bones such as the chest head and etc, just the body isn't showing up.) and re-skin it to the model's bones and such to recreate the Soul hunter?
Trying to make it clear as to what I'm describing. The bones for the model are present, just there is no texture/model on that area, The only thing that appears on that model is the glowing green light where the arm cannon would be found normally. (Basicly an invisible soul hunter if you will.)
bump!
i want this... really...... it would be amazing to have a humaniod protoss with a weapon of some sort, it will my long required gap for all my maps!
I'm feeling nice today. Don't ask for a model unless you have something to show for it. Use a placeholder model and then make the unit and even release a map with it. Then ask for a model of what you want. No one will waste their time to make a model that might not even be used.
It is Indeed possible to create a new model and rig it to the bone structure of an existing asset. However, depending on the current set of animations (if it has idle/walk/etc) , it might more convenient for a modeler to create there own rigg and use the "attack" as an attachment.
