Zero's AI - Blistering Sands
Smart/tactical AI to play against while the beta is down.
Read change log for current version information.
Play like your facing an actual opponent, because the computer will not hold back.
Bugs, questions, comments, send to [email protected]
Change the player 1 race to match whatever race you want to be if the UI is bothering you.
Bugs: No fog of war in Zerg vs Terran. Entire map is visible. Not sure if the problem carries over into Terran vs Terran.
Version 1.2 released, read the change log for updates.
To Kothre:
I just realized I forgot to remove a trigger system that caused them to do that. The old way it was setup was to do that, it will be changed in the next version.
As for them not attacking your expansions, they should of. That is blizzard's AI when it comes to attack waves. It normally does.
To RubberPoo:
Terran vs Terran is by far the hardest to program an AI for IMO. It really is hard to get it to be perfect. I will try to make some adjustments and tweak it out a bit. Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, the AI "cheats" in a few ways. It counters what your going (up to a point), it knows the location of your units (it does NOT have vision over the whole map), the resource rate for the computer is internally set by blizzard to be return 5 take 1 (This means if they are harvesting a mineral patch, they take 5 back but only 1 degrades from the patch. There is no way that I can find how to change this).
To All:
The Terran (AI) vs Zerg (Player) is almost done, and let's just say it's aggressive and mean. I'm enjoying making it.
hey i love ur AI system, its fantastic i always wanted to work on terran strats. btw i noticed that when i was pushed back after an attack i did, it attacked the 6 oclock expo but never attacked the gold expo i had. and also, after the attack he had a larger force than me and i couldve lost but the AI did not counter attack thus i produced a bunch of bc's and tanks with marines and maur and was able to win the game. but still, the ai wouldve pwnd me XD.i noticed the AI kept all of its units in his expo and did not move them at all until I expanded to the 6 oclock expo. after i expanded it moved to the expo to take it out. <
-all of that was in the second round. in the first round i kept the terran player turtled with siege tanks and marines+maur. the AI kept sending units at me all the time so i pretty much destroyed them all. after building a huge army i was able to push in and obliterate the AI. I found it fun to play :D and my super fast reaper rush did not work :[ it couldve ended the game early for it but it did not attack my base. all in all it was a greaaat match and i loved it :D btw it never scouted me, can it see my base like the behemoth map?Good, but man, I suck and I still beat it through a really cheap method. At first, I just turtled with siege tanks b/c I figured I'd lose, then I realize the AI barely attacked me. So, I eventually ran out of resources and was forced to expand. The AI NEVER attacked my expansions, they just kept trying to attack my main via the destructible rock...except they never destroyed it, so they kept running into a corner and let my siege tanks mow them down. Meanwhile, I massed banshees and battlecruisers and proceeded to win. Kind of funny, actually.
Open the map with the starcraft 2 map editor and click the test document button or access it threw the file menu.
How can i play this map or other offline maps
Yes, it counters what build your going. With the exception of two builds. Ground and air
whodaphunk- I played it yesterday and teched strait to banches, after it saw that I did that, it went Vikings and BC's.
i enjoyed the map. Does the computer player ever go air attack? I played for an hour or so just mining minerals trying to see if comp would build something other than thors, tanks, mauraders, marines, and medivacs..
wow this is soo aawesome it show that i need to keep traning alot more
when my scout scv atk them it just keep mining LoL something i think i real player might do (i dont know ) is atk the weak unit first
time to play against an AI thats a challenge, keep it comming
u should add something to the description like: "Think u got the guts to beat me?"
also ... weee bleach :)
to bad everything is "Param/value/.." , lets hope they fix that be4 release
Ya you can use it, giving credit is standard. Love the terrain on that map, looks sweet. Currently the only AI that I have done is Terran vs Terran so if that's what you want you can use it now, if not wait until I get the rest done.
You would have to copy the entirety of my triggers and all the regions. There is regions for triggers as well as building placement. Just take a look @ it.
And yes you could adapt more then one AI working at once.
Sounds great. I'll try to adapt it to my map (http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/core-zero/). It's gives me a reason and an introduction to triggers. Can I make a download for it later if I give you credit?
It's a 2vs2 map ... would it be possible to have 3 AIs going at the same time, one allied? :P
Are there other regions except for the buildings? Liek where to expand, etc ...? I mean, easy AI never expanded.
You could copy the trigger system to another map, you would also have to copy the regions for the building placement and expansions.
Honestly, it wouldn't be that hard to do it. You might want to change the timing of stuff on bigger maps as well. It would be up to you.
I put tons of comments in the map to make it easier for the average user to understand while looking at the system.
Is it possibel to apply to other maps, or it's the Ai trigger and region-based .. ie only works with this map?
Version 1.1 released. Enjoy!
Fun map, I enjoyed playing a decent computer. Looking forward to other races.
The anti-air build that the computer does, is solid. The ground I still need to work on. I should have an updated version with better ground AI by the end of this weekend.
The AI uses tank pushes quite effectively, however because the AI does not attack until around the 8-10 minute mark, a quick tech to banshees/battle cruisers is an easy win.
