Zerg Beacon
Prevent the zerg beacon from being destroyed, kill all the zerg that continue to attack (~ 15 minutes).
It is currently mostly useful as a 'proof of concept' type map. When units gain a level they gain a 'point' which you can use to upgrade defence, attack, or life/shield leeching stats.
This is the first map i have ever made in any editor. I wanted to create a basic or concept 'castle defence' type map with xp gaining and upgradable basic troops. It is not finished, I'm not sure if/when i will get back to it, i want to gain more familiarity with editor working on other types of maps before i worry about focusing on and balancing one map.
Some things. The Ghost is a solid long range unit, outranging all zerg units. Due to upgrades using an ability, this causes the unit to lose the hold position command. As a workaround i added an ability that cuts movespeed to '0' its not actually 0 though they move very slow. But it mostly prevents your zealots from moving too much and opening up to the forces attacking. The ability is toggle-able so click it to prevent movement, and click it to let them move again.
Pretty fun so far. ^_^
When you try to upgrade a unit it stops attacking which feels odd.
Banelings feel way to strong, mostly because they always explode when they die so it's very unlikely for them not to damage your zelots.
I think this could be made into an excellent game, I hope you decide to revisit it sooner rather than later.
no vespian gas so the upgrades dont work- income to slow to build enough defences to survive the banelings. okay- needs work.
