The Final Frontier is a complex space strategy map.

Fun fact, the map has 13700 line code, however I dont use galaxy.
Features:
-A completely open technology research system, with millions of combinations and a unique result every time.
-Map generator with randomly generated planets and stars based on H-R diagram. With this you will never play on the same map.
-Customizable space ships with 8 type of hull, weapons, drives, hull plating and shield.
-Time based alliance system, where both side have to agree in a pact.
-Focusable colonies on economy, production, research or mining.
-Unique ship building, where production time per ship is less if you build more ship. Also ships quality counts in the production time too.
-8 type of building for your colonies.
-3 custom resources, which you can only spend on other colonies, if you transport it with a transport ship.

I decreased all models with 30-50% (speed too) and zoomed the camera, but I wont be able to make it even smaller because if you move the camera it, will move too fast. (for all who was saying I can make bigger map by decreasing models)
Awww. Oh well. Guess I'll have to wait for another 1 1/2 extra weeks. :(
I changed my mind I wont be giving the map for US test, but I will publish the map on both server when I reach the end of phase 2. (that will take 1-2 week)
Phase 2: -some random objects in space for map generator. -more stuff for fleets -more stuff for space aliens -time based alliance system -transport route -beginner guide system -nicer dialogs, ships and more planets models.
perhaps a interface for building buildings on teh planetz and can i get map 2 test plox/
well that planer viewer doesnt help me in anything, I could do something like that switching between your planets but it wouldn't really worth it. (probably I will put 2 button in the planets command card to switch planets...)

I dont really think tinting the model would look like a gas planet but I will try out. Currently space aliens have a planet which is destroyable and if you destroy it they dont spawn anymore. I think I will add capture able space stations which will have some kind of regen aura.

Edit: Oh! Idea popped up! For gas planets you can simply take the model of a normal planet, copy it, and change its tints to 200 50 50, 50 200 50, or 50 50 200 to create blue green and red gas planets if you wish. Blue is 50 50 200. Red is 200 50 50. And Green is 50 200 50. :D
Edit: To add to my walls of text, I'd like to say something about aliens/pirates.
In most space rts games, like this one, they have some pirates/aliens on the side to give you oportunities to level up and strengthen your army. I noticed that you had lots of aliens floating around, but I didn't see any new ones being spawned. The pirates need some kinda base that spawns like 1 alien per minute to keep aliens coming. Also, we don't want too strong of pirates or it'd just be a waste of money spending ur ships hunting them, so I was thinking of making them hunt u instead. (Like they move around a bit, but some attack you when they get close to u. Idk if u can do that, but it'd be easier than hunting for them across this giant map with slow moving starships) (Kinda lame idea tho) :(
Edit: I was also wondering if you might possibly add space stations later on in development. (Space station can be like a buildable planet (Idk what will build it tho)) Consider the idea... :D
I dont have gas planet model... (or any oder planet model...) I will add doodads to the map soon, like asteroids. I plan the will be capture able and the will give different bonuses. Also today I made lots of testing and found lots of stuffs to fix. I say 2-3 day and I can give you the map for private testing....

2) Second, I think your map is awesome and besides new ideas I come up with every day, I wouldn't change a thing.
3) Finally, I'll say this again, I'm not in EU server, so can I...like...have a locked up copy of your map to test?

5) Edit: Came up with a rly cool idea just a second ago. (I don't know if you have or can make a model for this, but its a cool idea) It's down below.
I thought of the idea of asteroid belts around some gas planets. The idea is to make like 5% of total planets = gas planets. These planets cannot be colonized. BUT!!! You can harvest them as if they were mineral fields. They have asteroid belts around them that give you 1 resource and the gas on the planet istelf gives u another resource. (Idk how ur resources works right now but just a thought) If you want to, you can remove the asteroid belt idea and just make asteroid fields instead and make the gas planets their own thing as well. Hope you like the idea. :D

2., I am might add ability to make troops on the planet and load them to your troop transport ship and conquer like that, and if the other player have troops on his planet than you would have to kill them first. I have production building which increases ship building. But I am kind of low on trigger space to add more ship, building types. I might add if my map complete... (you already can build more buildings than x and x=√(population on planet/y)
3., hangars might would take to many time from to load in and out... (currently fighters and bombers faster than capital ships, I might change that.D)
4., making hostile planets is a good idea, I probably add it. (if you conquer it you will have its pop as in any conquering.) Neutral planet would take to many stuff to do it. I will be adding new planet models and than you might have different events on every type of planet. ( like loosing pop on hazardous planets, but destroying it would kind of too cruel.D)

you have already complete control of your ship stats... I am planning to add images to dialogs now so you can see the ship and the parts you add to them. Also I am adding that the stronger your ship, the model scale are bigger and maybe I will add new models too if your ship really strong. However I dont want to give the model control to the players. (its better that you can recognize ship stats from model...) (I already looked into Programmer viewer.D) Yeah, I might make a command ship if you make a fleet and it will have special abilities according to fleet lvl...
Well you have the ships graphics and I will add more objects in the space. Problem with zooming in the planet that than I would need to take down the map size to have place for the planets (even If I make only 14 for each player.) But if the maps will ever get higher space than 256x256 than I will do it. Yeah I could further decrease the model sizes but its already really decreased... I will also add lots of images to the dialogs, I might add that they will change as you progress or the planet models might change to as you progress.
Well dialogs not lag at all if I have 4-5 player. (I couldnt test it with more players yet) I tried to use as few dialogs as I could and in the video you saw all the dialogs (except transporting dialog...). Also if you set the ship design for build for example, after choosing the ship design your shipyard dialog will be opened again, so I tried to save your time everywhere I could. If the Golem map was lagy than he might messed up something in the triggers... Well WASD and dialogs are 2 different thing...

Edit: I read through every single post in the forum and the comments in map menus and I'm thinking of the following...
1) I think Aliens (Pirates) should control like 5% of the map at start and you have to fight to capture those ones.
2) I'm thinking you could (If you have enough trigger space) add in the option to build minor buildings like hospitals (makes planet take longer to conquer), airfields (makes your ships build faster), communications center (makes ships near the planet move 2wice their normal speed), etc. You could have land space which tells you how many buildings you can have.
I know you have a building system, but idk if you have this kinda thing
3) Idk if you can add this, but I'm thinking that you can use the idea of having hangars in larger ships like cruisers and battleships. These require research which allows your larger ships to carry very small fighters and bombers.
4) I also think there can be neutral, hostile, hazardous, and uninhabited planets as well. Uninhabited planets are a lot more common than the others and allow you to capture them with no effort. Neutral planets can't be colonized until they choose to. (You can build ambassadar ships later on in game that have an ability to colonize neutral planets {Kinda like a special colony ship}) Hostile planets will fight against anyone that tries to colonize their planet. Finally, hazardous planets are planets that can be captured, but have a 2% chance of destroying your colony every 30 seconds.

"Wanna know what'd be REALLY cool? What'd be neat to see in middle betas is complete control of ship building. Example: You decide to build a cruiser. You go to the cruiser button and it doesn't start building yet. Instead, it takes you to a cool model viewer UI with complete overview of what the cruiser will look like through default. Then, you can decide how much Hp, shields, armor, damage, etc it has. The more you put, the more it costs. Then, you can choose the model design for each ship. (Each ship type {Fighter, cruiser, transport, corvette, etc.} has it's own list of models) If you don't know how to view models in the UI, ask Programmer. He just made a model viewer recently and that'd be really cool in this game. That'd make a really great way to customize ships. MAYBE! I have another idea! Maybe you can make that a way to customize Command Ships (Capitol Ships) which act as heroic ships. That'd be cool. Consider my thoughts." :D -lol, I just realized the only new thing in this whole paragraph is the model viewer, but I guess that was the whole point of the comment wasn't it?
...also, someone posted some interesting feedback, and I agree. I would probably feel as though I was just goofing around pressing dialogue buttons all day and not really see any results. I could probably handle it, but it'd make you feel a lot better if you could watch something happen every now and then. I had an example right there, where you could see the model of the ship while you're picking the model. (You already had everything else, but I thought that idea would be interesting.) Anyway, I and many others would like to see that maybe in late beta or just at release. I know you don't want it in the lobbies because of the popularity system, but with this, it could be on the 1st page. :D
Also, you should change your statis of game to alpha instead of planning. :D
