To play the map offline:
- Download TheUnitTester.SC2Map from the right side.
- Choose from "North America" or "International" versions, depending on your client.

Hi I found a bug in the latest version of the map: When you click 'respawn units' it doesn't always respawn the correct number of units. I kept doing these labs and wondering 'why am I getting vastly different outcomes when I respawn and double check the outcome?' Then I realized that more often than not, after a battle the map will respawn an incorrect number of units via either of the respawn buttons on the map.

This looks so fun! For some reason my map editor will not open. It would be awesome if you could publish this map!
This is such an amazing map, I am using it almost every day! And it's fun! But it's getting to be a hassle having to open it in the editor, exiting starcraft 2, then tesing map every time. Could you publish it so I can just use it from on battle.net?

Thanks for the awesome suggestions. While all those extra little adjustments like changing the layout of buttons I feel are of personal taste (I think they're fine for example) I will do some awesome bug squashing. Things like displaying unit cost in the tooltip is not a bad idea, and totally doable.
Melee AI isn't implemented in the beta editor.
Zergling Wings are a 'bug' in SC2 (though it may just be because the programmers never would have zergling 'downgrade'. Heh.

Btw, I love your map, so far I'd consider it the most valuable thing to come out of the Galaxy Editor!
Suggestions:
(>) Move the "Player Vision" button below the "Clear All Upgrades" button.
(>) Add a checkbox to determine whether units should automatically be re-spawned when you go back to the main menu.
(>) Set the research time for the upgrades to 99.999% instead of just 99% to insure the upgrades are received instantaneously.
(>) Ignore the Escape key while you have a structure selected (so not to interfere with canceling out of a build menu). That or use a different key altogether.
(>) In the unit spawner menu, add a shortcut key to spawn units in groups of 8 as well as 5.
(>) In the unit spawner menu, allow Alt+Clicking on a unit to create a copy of the unit clicked.
(>) In the unit spawner menu, allow Control + Right Arrow / Left Arrow to send the selected units to the opposite team.
(>) In the unit spawner menu, display "Terran, Zerg, and Protoss" in the menu while you're selecting units, showing in parenthesis their shortcut key (1,2,3, etc).
(>) In the unit spawner menu, optionally, allow Shift+T, Shift+Z, Shift+P to select the Terran, Zerg, Protoss races. Optionally Shift+B (blue), Shift+R (red) or Shift+Arrow key to switch between teams.
(>) In the unit spawner menu, Add a "Clear" button beside "Respawn" to wipe out all units. Shift+Click removes just the current team's units.
(>) In the unit spawner menu, add a course "cliffs", where there is a cliff with no ramps.
(>) With the "Set Energy to 100%" button, when hoding SHIFT set ::ALL:: units energy to 100%. Control+Left click sets the energy for just the currently selected unit's team.
(>) With the "Set Energy to 100%" button, right-clicking the button toggles the command to run automatically whenever units are respawned.
(>) Make instant upgrades / morphing a checkbox toggle.
Bugs:
(X) When I clear all upgrades, I've got to clear it twice to remove the wings from Zerglings. This may be an issue with SC2 directly though.
(X) Carriers launch unlimited-range interceptors after receiving 100% energy, magazines, etc.
(X) Brood-lords occasionally spawn with extra broodlings, I haven't been able to track down the exact requirements to cause the bug to occur... it seems 50/50 right now.
(X) Brood-lords cause some sort of leaderboard errors occasionally when returning to menu.
Ideas:
(!)[Low Priority] Track damage dealt in a leaderboard. (Catch each of the unit is attacking units, and add up the damage).
(!)[Low Priority] When hovering over a unit icon in the main menu, display in the tooltip the unit's costs.
(!)[Low Priority] Add the ability to save and load unit groups in the main menu. I.e. I can create 8 marines, 8 marauders, and two Medivacs, save it into memory bank "A", and then later spawn the units for the given team by clicking on the button.
(!)[Future] Allow the Melee AI to run for a given team.
BUG: Whenever I respawn all of the units with the respawn button, only a portion of the units on the the blue team are respawned. I.e. I had 16 Zerglings before, after hitting "Respawn" I only have 12.
Loving this map, I havent even playd SC2 melee much, mostly just this map LOL.
Found a spawning problem: When ever you make a lot of units, like say 5000 minerals of hydras, then go back to unit creation and respawn, it will only respawn 3000. Same with zerglings, like 1000 will only respawn 575 minerals worth, then go to unit creation again and it will only respawn 375 worth. I think it's because the spawn location is blocked.
I'm really glad you used mostly all my ideas as you have implemented them nicely, and I hope you are kind enough to mention me as contributing some of the ideas and testing somewhere in the map or info. :D
I would still like to suggest:
- Move the "Back to race selection" button to the top left of the unit creation window somewhere, maybe beside the "Left" button. It's weird being in the unit selection area.
Also if you can center the unit creation window, I liked it more when it was closer to the middle, but it would be best in the center of the screen, or at least back where it originally was. Reason being, on LCD monitors things near the top of the screen appear darker than at the bottom so the colors of players in the menu (red, blue) was easier to distinguish when the menu was in the middle of the screen.
- Change the "Left" and "Right" button to read "Red (Left)" and "Blue (Right)" or something like that with the color names to further clarify who you are creating units for.
Awesome so far, I have some multiplayer ideas that I will write later.
Sorry. This isn't map related but Blizzard wrongdoing. It'll probably be possible once Battle.net's publishing feature is enabled.
just found out about this map and it seems hugely useful. Only problem though with me is that it wont let me play it in window full screen.
when i play beta or certain other games in fullscreen my screen blacks out after around 10 mins or so and i have to reboot the comp. when playing in window mode this isnt the case.
when i try changing to window mode during the test nothing happens. as soon as i hit ok it reverts backs to full screen.
doing these tests at 5-10 min intervals is quite frustrating!
The thing I would like to see most is a HUGE map, I wanna see like 2000 vs 2000 units
I want big battle field.. and i find bug..
Thanks for the report, I got it fixed for the next update.
BUG REPORT when created a carrier,and hit the "Respawn Units" , it will come with another 4 interceptors,move over the carrier,you will see them.
I find some mistakes when creating Terran units. Cost and supply count of Marauder/Reaper are incorrect. cost of viking has been changed into 150m/75g, not 125m / 100g.
