Transmission Maker+DROPS

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of StarCraft II. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

OVERVIEW:

I made this due to an issue I had with transmissions and talking portraits. Getting those things lips to move are kind of annoying, and discovering how to do so is not so easy for new users of the editor, so I decided to make a template for transmissions.

Galaxy Editor standart transmissions are ugly, not very effective and annoy me to no end (unless you're very commited to making sounds, lip synch and whatnot).

This is very similar to SC1 transmissions, where the units mouth will move regardless of what the unit is saying.

There is also a drop for terran and zerg thrown in there, mostly because the Campaign mod action/variables/etc. have absolutely no names in my editor, so this part is more for myself, but I thought I'd throw it in there for others with similar problems.

INCLUDES:

  • Transmission Action: You can set the unit that will talk, if it will flash in the map, how long it will talk, what it will say and the unit name;
  • Drop Pod Action: You can make drops by setting a spawn point for the units, a drop point for the pod to fall on, number of units that will be inside the pod, the type of units that will be inside it, consecutive drops, single drops, etc.;
  • A simple map that puts the mod to work. You simply type "talk" for the transmission to begin or you type "drop" for the drop pods to begin.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALL

  • Extract the .rar file;
  • Place the .mod file in you Mods folder in your SC2;
  • Open the map in the editor;
  • Run the map.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • There are two types of drop pod events: one that makes the drop and waits for it to be done before it can do anything like send another drop, and one that makes a drop that does not wait, allowing you to make consecutive drops. The second kind (the one that allows consecutive drops) only works if you copy the template from the mod and place it inside the Triggers in your map. The issue is that the pod is not created and the units simply appear at the spawning point out of nowhere. This is true for both Terran and Zerg drop pod actions.

LICENSE

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO USE THIS MOD YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN, BUT I'D APRECIATE IF YOU CONTACT ME AND GIVE CREDIT IN THE MAP YOU USED IT ON.
