Texture Swap Testmap
This is a map designed to show the power of the Texture Select By ID actor message. Upon starting the map, you can apply different diffuse, emissive or specular textures to various unit models on the fly. The map applies these textures to all units and shows the pathes of the currently used textures.
This is most helpful, if you want to apply alternative textures to your units without importing textures made specifically for those units, because testing valid combinations can take a huge amount of time otherwise.
Unfortunately, the textures and models need to be specifically set up, so the selection is limited. I will add more over time; also you may request additional models and textures.
any chance of this being updated one day?
Any updates coming soon?
Wow, the textures turned out to be so clever...
Hi. Could you please add more *.dds textures? :)
Love this map

lol
@ turokhunter: Yes, of course. I might add some structures to the next version.
Wow. These images are cool. I'm gonna try to find a way to swap textures in my map.
Hey is it possible to add structures too?
@DuckyTheDuck: Go I will include them for further updates, but it might take a while to the next update.
Thank you very much for this. Could you please add models of pickup items (at least plasma rounds and rift device)?

Well, the unit testmap has some replayability (it has some game modes where you need to counter specific unit combinations, I think) and provides useful information for meleegames.
This map doesn't, so I see no point in releasing it in multiplayer.
Considering the "Unit Test Map" made it to the top 10 on EU Bnet im sure this could be a hit if made multiplayer.
