StarCraft Adventures - Tychus: Resurrection
CREATOR NOTE:
Hey guys, since my old account got disabled somehow, (now it's called "Forge_User_XXXXXXXXXXXX", and I think the Decepticons are going to be searching for me soon) - Imma upload this new project here.
Just FYI until I get that account biz sorted out. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this demo of another new project! ~ SuperMudz

CREATOR'S NOTE:
This project is based on a goal and idea I had circulating in my mind since creating my first "SC2: Breakout" map. I *finally* resolved some issues I had with developing a "FPS" system, finally figured out Blizzard's trick, so I've actually improved it since "SC: Ghost" and that'll be great to update on my next instalment. I've been playing a lot of Star Wars Battlefront II and Lego, so I decided to try and incorporate a lot of design visuals to develop my map.
I may have missed a couple of little things here and there at the moment, but I hope overall it performs well.
It plays perfectly on my machine (GTX 1650, 16GB of Ram, SSD, Intel i7 processor), but if you find your computer is having trouble running it, feel free to let me know - I will be optimising it to the best of my ability in future updates. Hopefully it provides enough to be interesting however, it was a few days' hard crunch.
STORY:
- Tychus' and Raynor used to be buddies back in the day, and partnered up for one final campaign against the Zerg - but that all came to an end when his good friend Jim shot him between the eyes, right before he could dispatch the Queen of Blades with lethal justice. Or did it?
- Tychus wakes up in a resurrection cell on an unfamiliar, if impressive ship, and his past has come to call. Play as Tychus as the mystery of his circumstances and death takes him all over the galaxy in this single-player campaign romp being created for the new StarCraft II Blizzard "Arcade" Campaigns.
- Follow the epic and unreal story of this resurrected if tortured hero, and uncover more about the mystery of his demise. Is he holding a grudge? Probably.
- Meet some familiar characters, and explore what the galaxy has to offer in this Third Person Arcade Adventure! Baddies, puzzle-solving, immensely detailed 3D environments, epic story, lotsa shooting, and more!
INSTRUCTIONS:
- This is a WASD + Mouse shooter. Left Click to shoot. Right Click for "aim mode".
- No special abilities.
- Limited lives for you.
- Squad-mates respawn infinitely.
(Mouse zoom is a bit excitable atm and needs to be fixed up a little bit, but I'm sure I'll polish it up in an update.)
It's very basic controls at the moment, no special abilities have been activated for the first level, since it's just an introduction level and I didn't want it to be cluttered.
You have a limited number of lives, and if you lose them all, you fail the mission. There are other ways to fail, but this is a basic one to keep in mind.
- MISSION ONE - "RESURRECTION"
- The first mission map has been released as a demo. Hope you like it. There are some design aspects which are still in development, and I will likely polish this map up again at some point - but I'm still in the process of learning and developing, and this is a finished map.
- Tychus has admittedly become one of my favourite characters and I hope you enjoy this campaign centred about the chaingun-slinging badass!
BUG REPORT
I still haven't figured out why, if maybe the map has been corrupted in some way, it's an editor issue, or it's some dumb problem hours and hours of testing and experimenting couldn't reveal - but there's a really bad camera bug I've implemented a highly messy workaround for.
For some reason, the camera resets fine (largely) when your character is moving, but otherwise, it completely messes up any kind of manual reset to get it in position.
Just FYI.
