kk marine arena is actully my second favorite map lol i love your work....... if u do update this map can u make it a bit harder.... ive beeten it 10 times in aroiw now........and change the tank prices higher......there extremly over powered for their cost
Its been published on bnet for awhile now, but hasnt been updated since early fall due to the demand for Marine Arena updates.
However, I may start updating again once I'm done with the next version of MA.
best map ever......could of be a little harder though....... when is this map going into open beta? I m raelly excited and want to know

I thought I'd post to say that I've obtained a copy of the protoss version. I plan to update it in the near future.

you're looking for the .s2ma extension, rename the filenames to .sc2map and it will open in the editor.
To go to your appdata folder, you can either enable hidden folder view and open it in your c:/ directory, or click the start menu, go to run, type %appdata% in and it'll open that folder.
You'll only have the map in the cache if you personally downloaded it at some point, which is why you may not have it, since you were the uploader and you never had to download it.

I lost the map when i had to uninstall to get phase 2 to work (i think). I looked through my Starcraft II Beta folder and it was completely deleted (I may of deleted it myself by accident I don't really know). If the cache folder you're talking about is in a different place i may be able to find it myself but i haven't had any luck finding the cache. I published the map 2 days before phase one went down so my best guess as to when i published the map would have to be June 5th.
I'm working on my own project at the moment but when I've got that going well I'd love to do some more work on special forces since it seems to be so popular. (that old version was above DotA in games per hour when i logged on and saw it)
Hahah no no no, I'm not mad at all, and that current version is like, one of the oldest versions. That version was from 'before' map publishing was even available, I have no idea why that person even bothered to publish that old piece of garbage.
That info screen wasnt directed at anyone, because it was from before I could even publish the map, just ignore it. You dont have to apologize for anything, I actually wanted someone to take the project over for me, I started on Marine Arena and never came back to this map.
By the way, I may be able to get your map back. All maps that are downloaded are stored in a sc2 cache folder, its very difficult to find maps, but it can be done, anyone who played your protoss version will have that version still stored on their computer, since uninstalling doesnt delete that map cache. I'll take a look for it, but dont expect anything because I likely have hundred of maps in that folder, and none of them are named so it makes it very difficult to find it. You can help narrow it down if you tell me around which time you published that map, and I can compare the filesize with my current version here.
I'm the creator of the protoss version, my name during the beta was Furrylobster but i changed it to BeNign after release because i didn't like the name.
I originally downloaded the map simply because i wanted to change a couple things because me and my friends enjoyed playing on it a lot. I originally just intended to make the game harder (more zerg units) balance the marauder, fix the healer to heal multiple units and add all the tech buildings. After I'd done that one of my friends asked me many many times to add protoss units so i did. Once I'd added them, (took me quite a while) i thought I'd publish the map because someone else might be interested in playing the map with protoss units.
Unfortunately when the game was released I uninstalled the beta, which deleted my "Starcraft 2 beta" folder in my documents which is where I stored the map. I never republished the map because i don't have a copy of it anymore.
If what goofoffjw says about downloading a version is true then that's terrific news. I remember publishing it publicly since the original version was also posted publicly on this website.
What I'd like to see done with the version of the map is have it given to Crayon, it's his map and he deserves full credit for it should he choose to publish it again, and also i guess there's no reliable way for me to prove that I'm actually the creator of the protoss version.
I wanted to personally apologize to Crayon, I may have not given him enough credit when i published the map on the US server. I saw special forces 2.4 on the map list today because the popularity was reset, and I saw it said "don't steal my sheit - if you edit give me credit". I guess this was targeted at me so this is me apologizing.
Are you going to re publish this map to Battle.net? I looked today and couldn't find it.
I don't know who made the Protoss version but I have a copy of it. I downloaded it before Battle.net went down. I don't think I'm allowed to host it on here since I definitely didn't create it, but I could possibly host it somewhere else if someone's interested in it still. I decided to modify a copy of it slightly to allow archons as well, so I could upload that version too.
No sorry, the protoss version wasnt mine and I dont know who made it or where to find it.

couple bugs, seems alot of people forget to move all players to top team, and anyone on team 2 ends up being allies with Zerg. this allows them to then run up to the rocks and destroy them, causing the mass to swarm and pretty much pwn everyone.
also, not really sure if its true for all the factories/buildings, but trying to build a seige tank causes it to get stuck at 99% because there's not enough space to produce the unit - therefore no spawning. might also be applicable to thors? i was using the factory in the bottom left most part of the factories.
Yea typically the zerg allies I've played with just go kill hatcheries and get everyone killed. I'm sure it's got to be a bug.
I just looked at it in the editor and I didn't notice any strange ally settings, so I don't know why it's acting the way it is. Of course I don't really know that much about the editing side of things, but it seemed OK. There was a player 10 I've never seen in game that's allied with everyone but that's probably just something else.
teams are broken in the version 0.5, puts players on the computers team and they cant enjoy the game cause everything is allied..
I have a thought. Why don't you add a percentage "Handicap" to: Real players vs computer (Blue) 1 players knock um down 80% 2players 70% 3 players 60% and so on. So that way you can just have 4 people to take down blue and it still be fun
Oh and when I was facing the 300+ mutalisks it froze about 30 times. It would play for 5secs then freeze for 2 and so on..
I thought it was a really fun map. But toward the end all it took was 15 battlecruisers to do massive damage to the player 9-8. at one point you would destroy the hive or lair and all that would come out was anti GROUND. only the spires and upgraded spires did AA come and even then it was scarce. Another good strat I tried was to box in the marines that spawn when tier 2 comes. Once you leave for 5min and come back I had atleast 20 of them. When you box them in they do not attack they just walk around with their heads cut off. Near the end near the indestructable hive there was atleast 300-500 zerglings with upgraded 20 armor. Im sure this would be really hard for ground but for the battle cruisers, its just kinda annoying. Another thing is that once you leave and come back teir 2 to the top right of the start location there was atleast 300 mutalisks which was kinda hmmm whats the word... over done. Im sure once you play with 8 other teamates it would be fun.
