Solstice's Special Effects via. Cutscenes
I got into the realm of making Special Effects in the Cutscene Editor. IMPORTANT: The cutscene files will need to be imported into the import module. The cutscenes can be used in you map using the "Create Cutscene at Location".
Hello Supernova134,
I just checked out this special effect in the editor, via a trigger, and I like it!
Do you happen to have this effect as a .m3 file that can be imported and used? If so, would you mind sharing it? :)
I am looking for an infestation model that captures the moment when a unit is infested. I am imagining tentacles crawling around its target for a few seconds, and BAM! Infestation complete!

Yea, I have tried to build the infestation process in the editor by using Actors and Models, but I think my accomplishment looks kinda bad to be honest.. :/
I have a Zerg spell that launches the hyperevolutionary virus at target location. Any unit affected will start to become mutated during ca 10 seconds, as if tentacles are growing inside/around them. After ca 10 seconds, the infestation is completed and they now have a bunch of permanent tentacles added to them.
Here is how it currently looks when my units are infested: https://imgur.com/a/yIARI1v
Anyway, if you have the time to make an infestation effect, it would be highly appreciated! (If it is possible to make it work on any type of unit, that would be awesome!)

The tricky part is the infestation animation - like how it looks when a unit starts to become infested. Right now I use a Tint Color that shifts between green/brown at the unit (which looks kinda meh) and then after 10 seconds the tentacles just appear when the infestation is completed, as on the picture you saw above.
That's why I got so amazed when I saw your effect haha :D "Oh the tentacles are moving, like ensnaring the target! Aaahhh! That looks so gooood!"
Anyway, I will try to figure something out in the editor. Not sure how to make the tentacles to "ensnare" like you did, but perhaps I just go with an easier solution. Thanks for the feedback and advice!
