How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

Huge thanks to Maverck for his SC2BW, Ultraling for starting this project back in the day, and everyone who contributed. Last but not least, we're very grateful for the overwhelming support of the Starcraft community. Thank you.
Hi guys, great work on this, I really enjoy playing this remake, but I found a problem in mission 10 Omega, if I infest a terran command center the enemy won´t surrender, so I defeated everything but arcturus still didn´t said his surrender discourse because I infested the last domminion command center, so... yeah, they won´t surrender if I infest them.
So with the hotfix, Mission 3 (The Kel-Morian Combine) is acting differently on hard mode.
On my first playthrough, the white and blue Terran bases were inactive until my units came into sight and attacked them, at which point they both went active and launched periodic attacks.
After the fix, they're active from the beginning of the mission. This is making things significantly harder, even with my aggressive playstyle. Is this working as intended?
Edit: Specifically at around 18:30, you get hit on all four sides; battlecruiser/wraith from white, orange and blue come at the front with tanks, firebats and marine/medics, red comes from the east with a goliath/marine wave.
Edit 2: Just as an aside, the map is still extremely beatable, just caught me off guard and took some tweaking of my use of guardians when the attacks against me doubled.

Gotcha. Been a while since I played the WoL campaign, haven't read the books either. Anyway, I don't think there are available assets for a holding cell with one of those Destroyer dudes at the moment. If you happen to know a decent one, let us know.

Err... that's weird. The English version doesn't contain the Russian sound assets. So if you hear Russian during a briefing/intro, you do not have the English version. I downloaded and tested the English v1.0b from the above link just a few hours ago - this right here - and everything works fine. *shrug*

You're playing on ultra shaders? This is a known issue. It's basically a glitch in the game, and it looks like changing the portrait would be the only way to fix it at the moment.
Cacho56
Right, just checked the first map. Yeesh, I don't know how we missed that. Thanks again for the report.

It happens when a ling or hydra is created burrowed via trigger or placing it in the map editor, not every time you burrow a ling or an hydra. For example, in the first mission, the two initial zerglings look like they have two bodies.
This pic is of one of those two zerglings. You can see that it has four hands, two heads and two tails. Sorry for the quality. I'm not in home.
@Telenil, Jones & Jimm3110
Hi guys, I have another issue,
in the briefing room fenix's figure cannot show properly.
Hi!
Would like someone to assist me with this installation process.
I've downloaded all maps, put them into the maps folder in the sc2 directory, along with the scbw campaign launcher and the scmrsetup files.
In the mods folder i've got the sc1bwmod and the sc1mod files.
When I try to open the maps through the campaign launcher, I get the unable to open map error.
Also tried to open each map individually, with the result of everyone speaking russian though I am 110% positive i've downloaded the english files, unless the download links are actually wrong.
The coding is also showing.
So what am I doing wrong? I've played through all the campaign except the last one released 2 days ago with no issues at all

Maybe the dropship and the covert ops, infested terran and control tower might happen. I don't think we are going to use the rest.
@Wunterwaffen: Go
Oh, right. You probably want to wait a few minutes before doing that ^.^
@Jones313: Go
There are two types of hybrids: Destroyers and Reavers. (I'm not counting the two completely different Narud has in Flashpoint, or any new types that might be in HotS.) The one on Castanar which you used for Dark Origin is a Reaver. The one that enslaves the preservers in wings is a Destroyer. Reavers are more Zergish while Destroyers are more Protossish. (Plus Reavers can't fight air units.) When Zeratul saw it, he recognized it as a hybrid, so you should make the Dark Origin one a Destroyer instead.
I finished the last mission and the ending was great! You guys did a great job! However it was kinda ruined because the Magmoor Caverns music kept playing during it. You might want to fix that in case someone else does the "cow" code too. lol
Telenil our italian version is near to be completely fixed so we will be able to send it to you,mission 7 is fine (really fun,but there is a doddad that can "Lock" one of your ultralisks,it must be deleted,her it is the screenshot http://www.sc2mapster.com/media/attachments/35/620/Screenshot2013-02-02_22_04_27.jpg.
@Jones313, thanks, oops that's a silly question.
Just finished Episode 6, no major issues.
You guys rocks, thank you very much.
Cacho56
Wait what, this happens whenever a Ling or Hydra is burrowed? And we've completely missed it? Thank you for the info, we'll look into it.
HHKAGA
Nope, you have to kill one of the Cerebrates to make the Sunken Colonies vulnerable, like in the original map.
EivindL
Mac - well there's your problem. :P For some reason SC2 only seems to accept images in tga format and apparently they don't work too well with Mac.
Wunterwaffen
Can't go wrong with Metroid. :p Hmm, you're right about Rasz. We haven't looked into different custom models that much yet, something we might do in the future. Uh, what's a Destroyer?
In case you don't feel like replaying Omega I guess you could always cheat a bit to see the ending.
@Wunterwaffen: Go
This is fixed in 1.0b.
Big problem. On the last mission, the game doesn't end. After everything's destroyed and Dugalle and Kerrigan talk, nothing happens. Is it a glitch? Anyway, the rest of the campaign was well worth the wait. I think you should've had a Destroyer instead of a Reaver and made Raszagal a dark templar instead of a high templar. I LOVED the Metroid cameos in the last two missions. I'm a huge Metroid fan and put a cameo of my own in my remake of Dark Origin. You made my day! :)
Starting to play this, looking really good so far! But the mission completed background image never shows for me (it didn't for the previous campaigns either). I'm on a Mac.
I've just published a hotfix for the Omega ending and the infestation bug. Re-download v1.0b of the maps and it should be fine.
the last mission when u win the final cutescene don't appear
@Telenil, thanks mate. @Jones313, at the last campaign of Episode 5, the surrounding zerg units are invaluable, is that a bug?
By the way, congratulations to you guys for completing the project. Cheers
Hi! First of all, congratulations for finishing the campaign! I've just started the first new zerg mission, and I've really enjoyed the last five episodes (especially the fifth).
I'm making this post because I've found a bug with the burrowed zerglings and hydralisks. Two models appear for each one of those units.
That same thing happened in the campaign I'm working on, and I've found the reason.
For the zergling, there are two events incorrectly placed in the "devouring one" actor called "UnitBirth.ZerglingBurrowed" (it creates the devouring one actor in adition to the zergling's one when a burrowed zergling is created).
For the hydralisk, there are two events repeated in the actor "hydralisk" called "UnitBirth.HydraliskBurrowed" (the event appears four times when it should appear only two; and then, when a burrowed hydralisk is created, the actor is assigned to him twice).
Removing those events from the mod should solve the bug.
To those of you who are just starting the campaign - before playing, here's a potential fix/workaround for a rather major issue (the Infested Command Center thing) that's easy to do:
I need a drink.
