How to play
Before you play, you need to download the maps AND version 4.1 of the sc1mod. Put this file in the "Mods" folder of your main Starcraft II folder. If you launch the map 1 and lose the game almost immediately, the mod file is not at its proper place.
Thanks to Superfield for his mod work and TheTorrasque for some of the maps.
To launch a map, drop it on your Starcraft II.exe shortcut, or open it with editor and choose Test Document (ctrl F9).
I will give you a complete feedback soon. I do all mission on Hard,and for now i can tell you that mission 6 on hard without carrier is really a bad thing,for survive at the 2 waves i need 3-4 reaver for part,carrier could made mission 6 more factible and not so impossible. For Mission 5 i don't like your decision to delete all drops (except the last 2) when u destroy generator.
I have lot of problems with mission 6 too, I cant beat hard after many tries. Pylon range and aiming with psystorm is unaccurate (like... I aim at hydra pack but storm hits behind them), i havent used queens but im sure its a map problem, somehow that targeting thingy isnt showing the correct spot where ability will hit.
@TheTorrasque: Go
Yeah, I have planned to rename Easy to Normal - I would have done it before release if not for all the time I lost with my computer crashes. It is already on my to-do list for 1.1.
Yes, easy difficulty is a bit too hard for being easy, especially in map 06, they start to assault you with ultralisk quite early . I like that difficulty setting because is challenging without being too hard and frustrating, but doesn't fit the "easy mode". Never tried on hard. If I find more, I'll report. I'll suggest to use Fenix/Immortal portrait for buildings, as in original BW. I've discovered also that the corsair has no voice
Thanks for the reports, I'll get publish version 1.1 during the week-end and hopefully fix all of that. Keep reporting any bugs you may find.
Any comments about difficulty?
Found some bugs in mission 06 (return to Char) archons can't attack air units, hydralisks show the lurker aspects upgrade even if it's not available in this mission, when zerg upgrades are researched you can hear SC2 queen voice instead of Overmind.
In mission 03, when you attack cerebrate you can hear Kerrigan voice saying "we're under attack". In cutscene after dark templars kill the cerebrates, the matriarch is changed from Selendis to Tal'darim executor
Another dark templar bug is that mind control doesn't work. The unit stays in enemy control.
Started to play it: in map 02 you can research dark archon upgrades, while in mission 08 (the insurgent) you can't warp dark archons but can resarch updates. I'll report other bugs here if I find them.
Note to everyone: the mod version for this campaign isn't supported by the previous three episodes (yet). In case you might want to keep your previous version as well, simply move it to another location or rename it to something else. The maps will use the one named "SC1mod.SC2Mod" in your mods folder.
We'll provide a more convenient and permanent solution hopefully in the near future. Once we know exactly what that is, we'll let you know.
