The second installment of the classic Starcraft campaigns. Uses the same mod file as the previous episode, and again, credit for the mod goes to MavercK. Also thanks to Ultraling for his initial work on the Terran episode, and GnaReffotsirk and others for the amazing unit models.
Features
- all 10 original missions
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Zerg soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Lurkers! Because who doesn't love Lurkers?
- Mission 5 "The Amerigo" - yep, like it or absolutely hate it, the third person "shooter" action is back

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

Use the mod you had for the terran campaign. All versions of the mod are fully compatible with all three campaigns, so you should use the most recent one (which to this day is C2.3). It will probably be added on this page as well once Jones uploads the Easy difficulty and other small changes for the zerg campaign - within a few days, unless something goes wrong.
To play this campaign which Mod file I need to download?
This version 1.02? Or can I use the most updated version, the C.2.3 version, that I used to play the Terran campaign?
@kiarahellsmight: Go
Did you put the SC1mod file in your Starcraft II\Mod folder? If not, do it, and if the issue is still there, go to the Protoss campaign page and try downloading the latest version of the mod there.
There should be a mod and maps update on this page pretty soon.
Hey guys...i recently downloaded ep. 2 - overmind... it works fine until white balls appeared. most of the sc1 units are white balls... and some icons are white too... how do i fix this? oh and yeah... some of my missions have no briefing after the loading screen finishes and no goals... anyways... the spine colony is much cooler the original spine crawler! more power to the one who created this mod. :D thanks for anyone who tries to help. :D
i want the protoss campaign this year i can wait for the brood war ones when starcraf 2 hots comes out. then after that comes out i want to see brood war campaigns
@amshell: Go
This is part 2, other episodes are linked in the project description, just below the title.
There are currently no plans to convert Brood War campaigns, although the authors stated this is definitely something they would like to see. It may have to wait until Heart of the Swarm, if only to have proper "snow" maps.
Love the mod!
But could you change the animation of sunken colonies? I know you try to mimick the old sunken colonies from SC1. It is terrible. IMO sometimes less is more. Maybe you should keep the original animation from SC2.
And the infested Kerrigan hero picture does not show properly on the right-hand side screen. It is just a filled purple rectangle.
Where can I found parts 2 and 3 ???
@Telenil: Go. i was talking about the protoss campaign. and in time the brood war campaigns.
@svg1988: Go
The first five missions can be downloaded through the link "Episode 3 - The Fall" (though at a very low difficulty). If you're talking about the last , they should be available by the end of the year.
any idea when protoss part 3 will come out?
I forgot to mention that there are no old units just the new ones like instead of dragoon there is a stalker and instead of guardian there is a broodlord.
Kameer:
Try MapCraft, hopefully that does the trick. :)
DEFILERRULEZ:
Well, I'm not sure that the new SC2 models will be needed, but if there are any good and suitable ones the mod can of course be updated as necessary.
Asadar:
Hmm. It's one of these things (from the troubleshooting page):
Your mod file (SC1Mod) is in the wrong location, or simply doesn't activate for some reason. Follow the installation instructions and make sure it's in the correct folder. If the problem still persists, see "unable to launch map" below.
This one's still not quite clear, apparently caused by the mod file getting corrupted during download. Try to download both the mod & maps using the links under "recent files". Also on the download page, make sure you click "Download" instead of the file name.
(also make sure you're using all the latest versions. You could also try christdaugherty's updated mod file if you haven't yet)
When I play either this or rebel yell there are no heroes or with something like the crystal and if it is a mission that has either one of those the defeated screen comes and i cant play it and in the briefing the portraits of the characters won´t show. So how do I repair that???
@Telenil: Go
Ok thanks for answer
@DEFILERRULEZ: Go
The models are stored in the sc1mod file, not in the map. So whoever wants to have the new models only has to change the mod, and all maps will adapt automatically.
@Jones313: Jones313 finally you return to the darkness :D And where is Ultraling?It's really on ice?D: Aquestion,when we will can buy Legacy of the Void (near the year 2099 i suppose) u will adjust your SC1 and BW campaign with the model of the 2 Espansion? I am waiting the protoss that will be surely aweosme as the terran and zerg one,for now i am playing the 5 mission of christ...,a good job for now.
Hi guys,
Seems so lovely on Youtube, but (there is a but as often hehe) any idea how to use it and launch the maps from a iMac :) ? Everything is installed as required but I cant open the map with the SCII launcher.
Thanks for the help and great job !
Wunterwaffen:
Yeah I've thought about that, the ice maps would look a little bland if done before HotS release as opposed to after, obviously. We'll see.
Telenil:
Yeah, Brood Lords would have to be due to the new mod. I'm hoping localizing the mod has solved it, though. And the Chrysalis... it's a mod thing too, unfortunately, so I had to leave it for now.
Jimm3110:
Yes, I'm aware that people want that option. I'm also aware of how those doors should work, I guess what happened is I couldn't easily get them to work and just forgot about it. I'm getting pretty sick of updating these maps, to be honest, so I think that what I'll be working on next will be something new for a change.
