First of all, huge thanks to Ultraling and Maverck for having done most of the work and making this campaign possible. Both of them were awesome about letting me use their stuff to put this thing together. These are originally Ultraling's maps, found here in sc2mapster. I picked them up a long time ago and slowly worked on them, editing terrain, adding all kinds of flavor here and there, including Maverck's Brood War mod, and this is the result.
Features
- all 10 original missions + the tutorial
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Terran soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
- classic unit decals, such as Alpha Squadron, Sons of Korhal etc.
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Medics - to balance out the units Brood War style, and to provide more options to the player
- extra "hero" abilities: Kerrigan has the snipe ability, Raynor can replenish Spider Mines
- Mission 4 "The Jacobs Installation" - third person mode (optional)
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

Two things I want to to ask about so far:1. is there going to be any cheats allowed ever or is it just normal gameplay only? 2. is there any way you can control the marines and firebats that follow you around in mission 4? it would be very nice to not end up killing half of them just because they run in front of me. Also, any sort of mini map would be very appreciated in that mission as well
@CraftMasterTheBlackHayate: Go
Hey! Uh, yeah, I guess I did forget that. You can do both I guess, you can send me the maps via PM if you still wish to do so, and/or just upload them as a sort of "resource" for others to use. No excuse for the late reply, but I'm also kind of busy lately and I think that creating the following episodes will take priority at this point, so I'm afraid I can't promise that you'll be seeing the maps finished by me or Ultraling any time soon. But, yeah, I'll keep them in mind.
@Telenil: Go
ok thx
@IvanUED: Go
Yes. Basically, you have the same maps as in the SC1, and units have been changed to have the original stats. But the game is still SC2, the units move more easily and you can point rally points on the minerals.
hay i haven't downloaded this yet can you control more then 12 units in this
Hey Jones! I bet you forgot I was making the maps for those 2 unused Terran missions, cuz I sure did. (ha ha... been bussy) The first one is 80% done; should I mail it and the missions sound files to you or should I just upload them incomplete as they are? (I'm not doing the triggers since I don't know how) then again if you arent interested I'm sure somone would end up finishing the if I upload them here. Let me know.
Hey. I made this statement-kind of thing on the other project page, if you're interested. Also about all the feedback, I hear ya. I can't promise anything, but I'll see if I can't sort out some of your wishes.
Terhonator:
No, and yes.
stratostygo:
Make sure Starcraft is not running beforehand / make sure the mod is in the correct location / redownload the mod
RavenDF:
What CraftMaster said, working as intended.
chrissc2fan:
It has something to do with the map-specific custom objects (psi emitter etc), I think. Some systems don't seem to be able to handle them. I've no idea why, sorry.

A also had the same problem in mission 07.. played all missions and no problem except for this... There was no briefing in this mission, no mission objectives displayed when game started... and ai didn't do anything. But they defended though...
This also happened in "The Overmind" episode 2- missions 3 and mission - invasion of Aiur... No briefing, no objectives and no ai attack... but they respond to your attacks. In both episodes... Looking at their base, harvesters were not doing.
All the other maps were great though and I didn't really notice bugs except for the bugs mentioned above.
@RavenDF: Go
that's how it's supposed to be... this is just mission 2 your talking about right? Y ou rescue an academy later in the mission.
I just installed the mod today and everything seemed okay, however after finishing the first actual mission and moving on i receive an error message, it loads the second mission (Terran02.SC2Map) however upon close inspection build options are missing, such as the academy and bunkers, while the firebat and medic still show up and thus i am unable to continue on that front, my mod file is in my SC2 mod folder (in the install directory) and the maps are in a maps folder i created within the instal directory, I'm running Windows 7 x64 and i am running the latest version of the game. Over all the mod looks awesome and i can't wait to play it.. but i need to figure out why this is happening. (As far as i know i have the most recent mod and map files which i downloaded from this site.)

help me
Can somebody tell me why the hell does my SC2 say it's "unable to launch game" when I try to play any of these?
Have anyone created "normal" version of mission4 yet? Or is it ok for Jones313 or Ultraling if people use mission4 to make normal version?
First let me express my gratitude for this remake. Thank you very much Ultraling, Jones313, MavercK, Blizzard of course. If possible could you make a 4th (Terran) and 5th (Zerg) mission to the normal view from above as in all other missions. And yet of course I'm sorry but Kerrigan in the fourth, 5-th mission wasn't the ability of "psi storm", but she was a "trap","invisibility", and after the fifth mission in it there are three abilities: "invisibility", "trap" and "psi storm" it was the sixth and 8 - th mission. And in the fifth mission, when Kerrigan enters the room door must be shut down (three-doors) they are something are not closed, they are always open. Doors open after Kerrigan kills all, then get to the lighthouse and then the door just opened. If possible please do. Thanks in advance.
@Telenil: Go
actualy they attacked at 3x6, thats why they do a total of 18 damage to a Marine, try it out.
A couple of minor bugs: units that attack from high ground are revealed so that units on the lower ground can attack, as in the original, but this is not the case with buildings, which has fairly important consequences in level 5 : Revolution. Also, the firebats in this campaign attacks at 1x16, in the original, that was 2x8 (which only changes the effect of upgrades a bit, but hey).
Yeah, a real mission 4 in Starcraft style would be nice.
The mission 4 is imba, I have azerty, it's buggy and I don't really need of your 'artistic license' for this mission >.<
in the first mission (not tutorial) as I meet the first zerg units i suddenly get the defeated screen come up. Happens every time, dunno if it's something i've done wrong or what (never played SC1).
Both remakes were very well done overall.
Originality-
The infiltration FPS style was great but the controls felt a little lagish at times (and I believe its blizzards fault and not yours). I completed the zerg mission rather easily but had extreme difficulty on the terren mission mostly due to Kerigen regains health and Jim does not, a few more health packs here and there would be nice. I would get rid of the regen for Kerigan and do the same so both maps are more about conserving health and using packs as needed then how long you can afk while you regen. Also I dont know if its possible but being able to shoot and move at the same time would be nice. A map would be nice too.
Difficulty-
The later the missions the harder it gets and I think its mostley due to the AI cheating (go figure right). Several stages I noticed that I would build mass a certain unit and the AI would build mass the counter and send it at me all at once. There were a couple stages that I couldnt even pretend to have a chance becuase of this, most notable was Trump Card, the attacks were to intense and often to not hole in before setting out but once I would start farming minerals off the next site the AI would send everything it had at those minerals. A script for certain AI builds at certain times and when and where they attack would be better so the AI doesnt cheat.
I give a 4.5/5
Great recreation overall but some changes like I wrote above would be nice so that both the veterans can have their nastalgic moments while the noobs can enjoy it without headbashing through the whole thing.
