First of all, huge thanks to Ultraling and Maverck for having done most of the work and making this campaign possible. Both of them were awesome about letting me use their stuff to put this thing together. These are originally Ultraling's maps, found here in sc2mapster. I picked them up a long time ago and slowly worked on them, editing terrain, adding all kinds of flavor here and there, including Maverck's Brood War mod, and this is the result.
Features
- all 10 original missions + the tutorial
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Terran soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
- classic unit decals, such as Alpha Squadron, Sons of Korhal etc.
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Medics - to balance out the units Brood War style, and to provide more options to the player
- extra "hero" abilities: Kerrigan has the snipe ability, Raynor can replenish Spider Mines
- Mission 4 "The Jacobs Installation" - third person mode (optional)
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

Corbo09:
Thanks for taking the time to post your troubleshooting & solutions, it's very much appreciated. Those downloading issues sound very mystifying to me. I'll see if I can't put up some kind of troubleshooting guide here at some point.
onedaysnotice:
CC issue noted. I'm aware of the control tower issue, my own damn fault for not updating the "known issues" list. =P

See if this helps: http:www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWba5Sw3XLQ
OccupyingSpirit:
Currently no way in the map to invert mouse. I'll see if that can be added as an option later on.
Thanks to Peedobear, to confirm what he said, the recent files shortcut works ok, the issue is just the mod file I think. The download should take several minutes - maybe 10. If its only a few secs as mine was initially, the it hasn't worked, and you get the 'could not load dependecy data in the editor, or 'could not load game' if you go straight to starcraft exe.
Great job though Jonesy, am enjoying the campaign so far., now at Jacobs which is different. No way to invert mouse I suppose?
darren, default location for your install directory is /program files/starcraft2. extract maps into maps folder (make one if there isn't one there, i had to) and put the mod file (should be 68mb or so, check) loose in Mods folder.
@darren the install directory is the place where you installed sc2 on...i think xD
i already have the map package and mod files downloaded. just dont know how to proceed from there.
guys im at complete loss on how to do this. someone please give me a step by step downloading and running the files. i am using windows 7. my main problem is i dont know whats the sc2 install directory. thanks in advance
oh yeah, the pre-placed control tower at the first base doesn't work at mission 8
omfg mission 8 was a B*tch. Had to restart 6 times Dx. Heres a tip for anyone else finding it hard - try to get out of your starting base as soon as you can, aka kill the black base. Its not easy, but turtling is far worse because air units (including cattle bruisers) will attack you from both sides, whilst the ground force will attack your front. They would eventually break you. I swear they never give you a time to rest :'(. After you get out of the first base, it becomes easy though :D I just launched 8 nukes at oj's base LOL.
Oh yeah, I hope this gets fixed - you can't put a CC in the middle of the top left base where the minerals are positioned in a circle. The gas and maybe some minerals prevents you from putting it in.
@CraftMasterTheBlackHayate
Wow, what a name. xD
Of course, I'll see what I can do about adding those unused scenarios to the campaign. In the long run, I'd want our remake to be as complete as possible. By the way, your difficulty revamp looks really interesting! I'm gonna DL it and give it a run. :)
PLEASE INCLUDE THE 2 UN-USED TERRAN MISSIONS!!!! They are (7)Biting the bullet and (10)Opperation Silent Scream.
Find the missions here: http://starcraft.org/maps/sc1/ums/831
This is a link to a SC1 campaighn difficulty revamp I made that includes the 2 missions, but the unused missions are completly un-altered; I swere the only slight change I made was adding 150 staring minnerals on Biting the bullet.
Ya all I had wrong was that when I clicked the recent files, i clicked the file name to DL it. But I got it to work by clicking the recent flies rebel yell or sc1 mod
-> then clicking the download link at the top right-ish.Fuitmegger, I had the same problem that you did and what my problem was that I had the wrong mod DL. I was only able the get the game to work with clicking the recent files rebel yell v1.03 and then SC1 mod v1.02 then from there clicking the "Download" button at the top of the page for both rebel and the mod. Make sure you don't have a sub folder for the mod either, all you want it just the mod folder and then you see what ever folders where in there the challanges mod and then the SC1 mod.
My trigger doesn't work or something about birthsound. Also, i t said that the mods which wasn't since it was inn the mods folder already. anyone give me assistance?
First of all: thanks, I've always wanted to play the SC1 Capaigns :D
but ive got a problem. after loading the maps the pre-mission briefing does not start? Ive tried restarting the mission which helped for the first two maps but now that wont help anymore. What do i do?
ok im on a mac and I can get it to work by opening it in the editor and doing test document. (is there an easier way to do this? O.o) However, I can't use the next mission feature when I finish a mission and I always have to exit the map, open the map in the editor, wait for it to load, test the map, then waiting for it to load again. As you can see, it is very troublesome and unproductive. Does any one know how I can link the maps on a mac? Does it work for PC?
Try opening it with the world editor and press file-> test.
okay I still can't play it on a mac. In mac you can't drag the map file to the sc2 shortcut. Can anyone who as a mac who has been able to play it help out? I've put it in all the right places already.
Why do people get confused with the mods folder? It never asked for another folder than the mods folder. Just read the damn instructions right...
Peedobear. That also happened to me. Check to make sure you followed the steps I listed. I havent tested the steps I took for that map you are on. If its mission 1 or 2 then just skip and go to the next one. I dont think your mod file is either in the correct place or you did not grab the mod file from the "Recent Files" list.
I just got past the "unable to load game" error, but I am getting a error message when any mission loads,
Trigger Error 'gt_Mapstart_Func': Could not get 'birthSoundLink' from parameter in 'UIShowTextCrawl' (value: 0)
And I don't know if the message is related to this, but when I start playing and see enemy's, I am able to fight for like 5 seconds, but then the defeat menu pops up and thats all i can do.
ATTENTION: To all those who are having problems with launching the game!
I have had the same problem for the past 2 days. Somehow JUST fixed it. Follow these steps and see if it fixes yours as well.
Step 1: Click Rebel Yell v1.03 UNDER RECENT FILES this is a must and download it. Save to Desktop.
Step 2: Once download is complete, extract to your maps folder in your starcraft 2 folder. The one located in program files. Replace all existing Rebel Yell maps. Make sure when you click on "Maps" folder that a sub folder called "Rebel Yell" is there. In that folder should be only the maps and no other folders.
Step 3: Once again under RECENT FILES. Click and download the "SC1 Mod v1.02" download and save to your starcraft 2 "Mods" folder, DO NOT CREATE A FOLDER CALLED SC1MOD, just simply save that file to the mods folder that should already be there. Replace previous mod with this one.
Step 4: You should be able to play the maps by Dragging the map on to the starcraft 2 shortcut. Enjoy.
Side notes: For some reason the only way I got this to work was by grabbing the maps and mod under the "Recent Files" located to the right of this page. If you downloaded it by clicking under "Download & How to play" it simply did not work. I also only got the maps to properly extract by saving the folder to my desktop first and then extracting it after to the maps folder. I hope this solves everyones problem!
