Resource Curse (Campaign project)
Resource Curse is collection of single player campaigns that use Resource Curse MOD.
Campaigns / Factions:
Chapter1, Hand of Humanity, Blue Terran, 10 Missions.
Chapter2, Magara's Brood, Green Zerg, 1 Missions.
Chapter3, Gold Tribe, Yellow Protoss
How to play?
Singleplayer campaigns require some file management to make it work properly. You have to extract a zip file, find and create folders.
1. Download Resource Curse.zip. You find it from "Files" section at top part of this page.
2. Extract .zip file and place files like this:
Startcraft II\Maps\Resource Curse\Launcher Chapter1.SC2Map
Starcraft II\Mods\ResourceCurseMOD.SC2Mod
3. Open "Launcher Chapter1" map in Starcraft2 editor and press "Test document" button.

- Campaign structure modified: "Prologue" missions modified to "Chapter1" missions. All Chapter1 missions are Hand of Humanity vs Magara's Brood missions. (Blue Terran vs Green Zerg)
I have uploaded new version of project 19.8.2017
Most important changes:
- Resource gathering removed. Players get 1 Mineral every 6 seconds.
- Mineral costs rescaled. For example 3/3 Zealot costs 3 Minerals.
- Time costs rescaled to 6 second per 1 cost. For example 3 Cost, 3/3 Zealot build time is 18 seconds. (5 seconds per 1 cost before)
- Supply costs rescaled. For example 6 Cost, 6/6 Archon costs 6 Supply. Pylon provides 24 supply.
- 1 Toughness equals 30 health. (24 before) For example 3/3 unit takes 5 hits from 3/3 units before it dies. (4 hits before death before)
- Command Center, Hatchery and Nexus removed. Workers and support units are now built from Engineering Bay, Evolution Chamber or Forge.
- Hand of Humanity faction removed. Two missions modified to Comet Resources missions. (No effect on gameplay)
- New units: Flamethrower Turret, Nydus Destroyer, Shield Battery, Ghost.
- In Prologue missions races have exactly same units. From Chapter 1 each race gets 1 new unit per build & destroy mission.

I have a plan to make and test new mod / gameplay mechanics. I will use Resource Curse maps for testing.

- Changed size and footprints of Haven trees.
- All Haven maps modified to use new sized doodads.
- Fixed lighting triggers of Zhakul'Das and Kaldir maps.
- Changed model of ice rocks 1x1 and ice rocks 2x2.

Most important changes:
- Project contains now two mods. ResourceCurseMOD is used in actual missions. ResourceCurseMODUnitPack contains huge amount of modified units. If you want to test units in action use map named "UnitPack".
- Magara's Brood prologue missions retextured to Kaldir tileset.
- Gold Tribe prologue missions retextured to Zhakul'Das tileset.
- I cant really decide how many units I will use in actual campaign missions and how much differences I want to make between races.

Most important changes:
- New mission: Comet Resources: Chapter1 Mission3
- 7th Prologue mission removed.
- Air units removed. Resource Curse mod will focus on ground units. Air units stacking is too powerful.
- Difficulty rescaled. (60 % / 80 % / 100 % / 120 % / 140 % / 160 %) This makes easiest difficulty slightly harder and hardest difficulty much easier.
- Hero units are now introduced in Prologue missions.
- From Chapter1 each mission will introduce 1 new unit per mission.

- All units including heroes that are not presented in Prologue missions are removed from Chapter1 missions at least temporary. I will try to find more interesting ways to introduce new units and not to break unit / race balance.
- Medic, Infestor and Adept modifid to 3 Cost 2/2 Healer. (2 Cost 1/1 Healer before)
- Sandbags, Infested Cocoons and Protoss Crates mineral cost reduced to 0.

- Original version of Magara's Brood: Chapter1 Mission2 modified to Gold Tribe: Chapter1 Mission2
- All 1x1 "small" units radius changed from 0.50 to 0.375.
- All 2x2 "big" units radius changed from 1.00 to 0.75. As a result units can move easier in narrow areas.

- New missions: CRM01, MBM01, GTM04 and GTM05.

- New mission: ProtossM03
- Vision modified: Doodads block vision and overall sight radius is reduced.
- All units attack speed is 2.00 (1.00 before) but damage is doubled so DPS remains same. Slower attack animations look better.
- Workers gather 4 Minerals in 4 seconds.
- Changed formula how unit health and cost are calculated:
1 Power = 3 DPS. (Or 6 damage)
1 Toughness = 24 Life.
1 Cost = 24 Minerals and 5 game time seconds.

- All doodads used in maps are created as units and have footprint. This makes minimap more informative.
