Mining By Night
A base defense map with stock SC2 units, and my first decent project.
I'm releasing it primarily for critique, but it does play how I intended. Browse around the terrain and triggers and tell me what you think in regards to aesthetics, functionality, difficulty and gameplay flow. The input's appreciated. Thanks and good luck.
NOt sure if i did something wrong but there are 6 mineral patches and i mined em all till they were in the low 2k's. the patch start with 5k minerals. so that means i wouldve at least mined 12k but i dint get the victory.
Nice map, this was fun! My impression was that it started up a little slowly, but then again I did get overwhelmed at one point. However, I credit that more to my general suckiness and inexperience with Terran than to anything else. In terms of concept it's pretty much just a generic defense, as you said, although I did like the whole aesthetic of it and the base layout. I think you have a knack for this kind of campaign map if you're thinking about doing more of this in the future. Tweak the pacing to make it a little more interesting at the beginning and I think this would be very fun indeed.
I only had a chance to play this while I was rely tired and about to hit the hay so I wasn't able to beat it but it's a rely good map. I like the level of increasing difficulty and the way the map is built to facilitate defense. It could be improved by adding a SCVs alive counter, warning before the air waves, or mabey some custom upgrades.
