I will not be changing the gold expo at all, as I'm thoroughly convinced that having one gas on the island makes it significantly less valuable, even with the 6 Gold Minerals.
I've been taking suggestions from various top-tier SC2 pros over at teamliquid.net, and I feel that once this goes live into testing it will prove to be a top-notch balanced map.
As far as doodads are concerned, I really dislike the selection of doodads in SC2. They only really add visual clutter, and none of them really seem to add synergy to the map, so, for now, it will remain doodad-less.
There are a few really wide open areas on the map, mainly between the nat and 3rd and the middle of the map. I would recommend adding some type of line of sight blockers or chokes to help prevent it from being too open. Openness favors zerg but too many tight chokes favors protoss (not sure how this works for terrans, my main race is toss) so trying to have a good balance between them is good.

I'm no elite player, but a wannabe map maker and i think it looks brilliant. I agree on the golds, make them four, rather than change the map too much.
Are there only two towers or am I missing one?
Excellent map. I love it. The back platforms are very innovative and I love maps with an easy natural - it makes longer, more epic games. Also the placement of the watch towers is very nice (I like the scrubs covering them).
Now for some (light) critique. The two mains need eight mineral patches instead of seven. As I'm sure you're aware, the map needs some doodad help. Also, I believe that an island expo with gold is a bit overpowered. Really it's up to you, but I think the islands shouldn't be high-yield. If you want a high-yield, you could probably make the upper left and lower right expos gold. Or OH! You could leave the islands gold but make them with only four mineral patches. With all of that aside, if you're bored or busy, just add doodads and the map is golden. Great job!
Smooth out the ramps. Add some more doodads to middle. Layout concept is excellent, just needs detail TLC.
