The thing was that I looked at some Images of an Oasis and figured that the Trees are standing on plain Sand. So I didnt "textured" anything there.
No I added some "Bel'Shire Gras" and it looks really cool - maybe not entire realistic but - as you said - its the look that we want :D
Lookin good, dont be afraid to spam alot of terrain textures in different mixes all over the place for example adding a little bit darker one below each tree would make em "melt" with the terrain more, just like you did with the rocks, it doesnt nesseairly need to make sense like rock texture doesnt need to be under rocks only; the visual effect is what we want. but anyways good job keep it up ;)
