Last Defender

Presentation

Last Defender is a Tower Defense or a Base Defense map. You must survive with 3 others players against 100 waves of creeps and 26 bosses. One boss each 5 waves.

Towers

Use Defense SCV can build some types of buildings :

  • Perdition Turret : Flamethrower.
  • Railgun Turret : machinegun with very fast attacks.
  • Siege Turret : Heavy damage but a very slow attack speed.
  • Missile Turret : Launching missiles to kill ennemies.
  • Energy Tower : Generates a powerful energy overload to increase attack speed of towers around.
  • Shield Tower : Generates a small shield to increase armor of all ground towers around.
  • Disruptor Tower : Decreases ground ennermy units speed.
  • Bunker : Taunts ennemy units and force them to attack the bunker. The bunker is repairing himself. This is the 'tank" of your base defense.
  • Healing Tower : This tower can repair all towers around. Uses energy.

... Or an Air SCV to build some buildings in the air :

  • Railgun Drone : Same as Railgun turret, but in the air.
  • Shield Drone : Same as Shield tower, but in the air.
  • Disruptor Drone : Same as Disruptor tower, but in the air.
  • (...)

Total of towers : 18. 9 in the ground, 9 in the air.

Several Upgrade kits can be used for towers. Upgrade kits are not the same into a Bunker of into a Railgun turret.

Gameplay

Ennemy units don't let your towers to kill themselves without actions. They want to kill your towers before attackying the center building. You must use several towers to dodge the problem : Bunkers, Healing Tower etc.

Bosses

Bosses in this map are very strong. A boss lasts between 45 and 180 seconds of fight. Each boss has abilities and a very high resistance against damage. All bosses have Heroic classification. No towers have special damage against Heroic classification.

Each boss let you a new technology. For example :

  • Lord roach > Piercing ammo : allow to switch Railgun turrets to Piercing ammo or Standard ammo. Piercing ammo deals more damage against armored units. Standard ammo deals more damage against massive units.
  • Ultralisk avenger >Shield Technology : allow to build Shield towers.
  • ?? > Healing Technology : allow to build Healing towers.
  • ?? > Disruptor Technology : allow to build Disruptor towers.
  • ?? > Icethrower ammo : allow to switch Perdition turrets to Icethrower ammo. Deals less damage but slows the ennemy attack and movement.
  • ?? > (...)

Waves

It can be "normal" waves or "events". A normal wave is composed of several creeps spawning every 10 seconds. A event wave is a special wave with a special duration and some effects to the map. For example, the event 7 is a event with an attack of underground worms.

A normal wave has a duration of 90 seconds. Boss and events waves can have another duration.

Victory

Survive against 100 waves of zergs. Absolutetly zergs. Again zergs. And again. And again.

Is it ready ?

Not sure when this map will be available on the Bnet servers. To be honest, it's possible this map will not be released for playing.
