Immortality Systems Test
This map is a preview of a map currently being built by Thunderlord_. This map allows you to take control of an Immortal and test out the movement and shooting concepts that will be used in up and coming map, "Immortality". (Note. this map is not even close to the final product, it is only meant to display the systems that will be used in the 7v7 hero combat area) The new version more than doubled the map size, and also added camera settings, these settings allow the players to set up their camera to whatevercauses the game to run its smoothest, hopefully this will cut back the amout of choppyness that the other map had.
As most people had said, it is choppy. you should make the click on the mouse actually do something instead of just playing an animation but it is a cool concept
For those of you who download and test this, i would like to hear from you what you thought of it here.
Also. i am having trouble deciding on how to set up the final map.
I originally intended it to be a capture the flag style 7v7 map. but now i am having second thoughts i was thinking in using this Third person tab targeting immortals in a map in a theme like Dota or battle ship or maybe somthing like hold the control points to gain points to win, (Like Arathi Basin for those of you here who have played WoW) Anyway, please post your thoughts on this new version below, and if you were able to eliminate the choppiness with the new camera settings.
Thanks, yes clicking is not supposed to do anything, originally making the map i put the shoot animation in when you click and when you said that i remembered i forgot to take it out. in the final map each immortal will have to buy a left and right cannon that goes in their inventory and ups their damage, each cannon will have a special as well though, for example one of the cannons i currently have set up Photon Cannon Adds 10 damage to your immortals attack Special-Deals 100 damage
If you put the photon cannon in your left cannon slot then you would get a constant +10 damage per attack and when you press your left mouse button it fires off the special attack and deals 100 damage. so clicking WILL do something just not in the single player version.
Working on the Choppiness, it helps if you set your graphics settings lower...but that is not a permanent fix, thanks a ton for the feedback now i know its not just my computer being slow. ill have to come up with something for the real one because with 14 people playing on a map more than twice as big...
I have to agree with ziplocksc2, it was very choppy. And i dont know if its supposed to be like this but when u are at range to a target the immortal shoots automatically, and since u have a max attack speed clicking doesn't do any diference in damage. But the concept is really awesome! besides from the choppyness it looked sweet!
Heya
Tried it, I think the concept and mechanics would be fun if done properly. I know this is just a test map etc but it was extremely choppy for me.
Cool idea though, I'd like to see the final product !
Hey, if you play this map and you like it, don't like it or have any sort of comments on it whatsoever please let me know, now that the beta is closed there is no real way to test maps so i would appreciate all the feedback i can get. Thanks!
