Hobrows Zerg Defence
This is my first map!
Survive the coming swarm. Your outpost is doomed, but your primary base defence is very low. Defend your outpost as long as possible!
- Localization
- Hero (30 levels, 4 abilitys)
- Customized Units and Buildings
- 20 Waves
- Day/Night
- Lots and lots of zerg to kill
- 1 to 6 player (map scales with player number)

From what I can tell a few waves after broodlords it gets way to hard if not impossible in v1.7 also the queen does not spawn even if you somehow manage to beat theese waves.
If you know whats good and what/where to build its quite easy up to the last upgrade but I get overrun almost instantly at that point the ultralisks just are to strong.
To beat the last upgrade I added an extra gas and some minerals and then could get enough cannons and 200/200 supply to beat them as 1 player using the editor but even then it wasn't compeletly easy, after that the queen never spawned though.
@ archkk: What upgrade are you talking about? There are only upgrades with 3 or 1 level. "buildings are slow" At what? Building up? T2 buildings are intended to take a bit longer. "please give lift to barracks and factory" I don't realy see a point in doing so. It's the same reason I removed salvage from bunkers. People will lift of and fly back to their main base. Minerals are quite fine, not too much not too less.
The last zerg upgrade might be a bit too hard...
I have gotten like a wave after tier 2 playing single player.
I thought the upgrade was too little, there were only 2 levels? -the upg should be at least 5 or unlimited. (enemies get more hp, its only fair we get stronger.) -buildings are slow. -please give lift to barracks and factory. -need more mineral patch, (for single player maybe)
@ iceaddon: You're not "building" tier 2. you simply get it. I will add some clarification in 1.7. 1.7 will also feature a complete overhaul of wave 6 to 20. I played several time with 6 players and... it's just too laggy. Waves will have less enemys but stronger ones.
Thanks for a great map but it feels very dark during the night might want to place more lamps around the choke if you want to keep it that way. thank you
also you apparently need tier 2 to built tier 2
@ Habladabla: Yep, I know. That's what i will be making next. I will most likely look like this: Camera is showing around what you have, what it can do and what to do.

WHAT? Damn you Data Editor... (I somehow got two Command Centers in the data editor, the one for the map and the one for meele maps) of course you shoundn't be able to bild the meele one. Will be fixed in next version.
For the hero thing: I first wanted to make a "Your hero died, he will revive in xx:yy seconds" thing, but i run into som serius problems. So, because you're never the first to do something, I had a look at the forums. It turned out that it is curently almost impossible to do such a system. Well I don' want to explain it further here.
The hero teleports when falling below 25% health. However if it's too much damage, he can't react that fast and dies. With other words: If you have 100 hp (25% is ofcourse 25hp) and you drop by Zergling attackts to 30% (30hp), then some mighty Ultralist attacks you for 35 damage. You're instantly dead...
woohoo, just finish playing your newest version~ :] well, I can see many changes~ but I couldn't win after killing the queen, or upgraded to T2, or even until noone is coming for half an hour @@ I played total about 2 hours~ It was really fun. there are some bugs in this map!!
Heh we understood a bit too late that the outpost is just there to give us some time to build defenses in the main base I spent 2 minutes on trying to get the builder to the outpost so I can repair my poor bunkers XD
Would be cool if you'd add some kind of explanation at the start, so instead of trying to the defend the outpost, players would actually focus on preparing the main base for the attacks.
First of all, thanks for the feedback. I haven't done a victory trigger yet, because i will add about 20 more waves (hopefully). ;)
I guess you're talking about linking the outpost and the main base? The problem is that: Why would you want to build a new defence, if you can enhance your present?
I know that it's really hard to hold the outpost, if only one team mate leaks. Especially in the first waves, with 0 main base defence.
In the next version, i will add some cannons (which you will be able to build after the first boss (Wave10) to the Fusion Core and the road that leads to your main base.
EDIT: Ok, I already added wave 20 and that will be the final wave. It already takes about an hour to finish the map with 20 waves so i will stay at 20.
This is a really nice map! after all the first base is really hard to defense, due to no builder can go over there. I suggest that two base can be link in some sort of way @@... that would be awesome!~ And the upgrades are quite slow and so few of them... plus the zealots and others are coming out too slow~ and one last thing is that after 9 wave and so, the game is still continuing!? good luck and thanks for the hard work! can't wait to download the next update ^^
